HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Yes, thats the real benefit of the Arduino and microcontrollers(Not Microprocessor like the RPI)

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Yea like others said i think its just down to tolerances. The power jack doesnt stick out nearly as far as the USB Port. The USB port should sit flush with the outside, which basically puts the power port right up against the inside wall. I had the original box creator print me my box and...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

The Arduino doesnt need power if its plugged in via USB. You should only need the external power if your using a very long/very ****ty usb cable that cant supply the power properly. Thats why the case doesnt have a hole for it :)

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

True enough, but even RJ11 wiring wouldnt fix this if he has no idea what wire is going where. For science as wbarber has stated i'd tear one of your probes apart and see exactly what wire is going where.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Your wiring looks right, but i'd stick with pin A4...i dont think thats your problem. Also cant see the resistor to make sure your really using the right one ;)

Soil Volume For A Hop Plant?

So, new house has a giant above ground planter box (22'L x 2'W x 3.5'H) on a cement slab that i am rebuilding because it was rotting and they couldnt tell me which variety the existing hop plants were. Im wondering though if i really need to make it as tall (3.5') as they had it for planting...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

You dont want 12V...you want 5. I use this for my RPI in my StrangeBrew Elsinore panel. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008LT2PGY/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 I wire in my 120V mains to one side, and cut an old USB cable i had up, looked online for which color is what in a usb cable and wired it...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

The instructions for uploading work fine, ive done it a dozen times when writing them. Its because for whatever reason people are getting these **** arduinos now that have no bootloader or anything loaded on the Atmel chip...i probably need to write instructions to flash the Arduino with a...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Good to hear, there seems to be a batch of "bad" cheap knockoff Arduinos going around lately.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Can you post a picture of your wiring? If you arent even seeing any A4 devices in the list then something is quite wrong.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Yes ssrs would probably fix it if the lcd means a lot to you, they are just a lot more expensive than the cheap mechanical relays which are quite electrically noisy in comparison.

    Multi-chamber fermentation control with CellarWarden

Im sure most people know this but ill mention it, its a 4.7k resistor not a 470 ohm resistor.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Also ill state (this is what i do for a living) any relatively modern ethernet controller can do Auto MDIX and doesnt need crossover cables to go back to back anymore.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

If you search googles theres a way to calibrate probes, is it distilled water? Otherwise its likely to have SOME sodium in it...

    Fermenation Chamber - Upright Freezer

You could probably remove the hinges from your existing door and remake a plexi insulated door with seal, so if it doesnt work you can always put your old door back on :)

Have you looked if theres a ssh_host_rs_key.pub file in /etc/ssh? Was this a default Wheezy installation or did they do a custom install and not install all the default packages? Ive installed it on Wheezy and Jessie using the instructions from the Wiki and it works every time.

Did you update to the latest BrewPi, or did you update to the Legacy branch? Run the updater.py file in the BrewPi-Utils folder and when it asks what branch make sure you select Legacy for both the /home/BrewPi code and /var/www website code.
