HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Yea i just dont think beer profile or beer constant will really work for your setup. UNLESS. You put both your beer and fridge sensor in the cooling water, and have your pump running continuously. Then your beer profile mode controlling the fridge power should work. As we've figured out...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Good to hear you got it figured out, not sure why you had issues with the web stuff..never had that...just press enter to accept the default path should work. It seems that Elco(or someone) updated the install script so it actually detects the apache dir, when i installed on Jessie this last...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

1 Sensor in Beer 1 Sensor (Fridge) in your cooler of water 1 Ambient(doesnt matter) You basically have a "normal" setup except that your "cold" source does not heat up quickly when turned off like ours would since its really a cooler of cold water. It is sitting there forever at idle i think...

Anyone else clean stainless with green scotchbrite?

Ill ask again, why is an abrasive necessary at all to clean a pot that has just been brewed in. It wipes off with a wet towel and a hose/sink in a matter of seconds. I can understand doing PBW through your pumps and recircing in your pots, but scrubbing with BKF or abrasive pads seems like...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

You may have just won the lottery and had your SD card corrupt itself as well. If you had an image of it nows the time to flash it back on, if not...the BrewPi instructions are on the Wiki now(top of the first post) on how to get it up and running, should be pretty fast.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Check your relay board, its possible one of the relays possibly went out? They are mechanical relays so its entirely possible although they should have a lifetime of like 100,000 on/off cycles. Ive had no problems with my original one ive had going for 2+ years now. Is the red LED on the...

    Native Python BrewPi controller

Excited to see this announcement! There's a bit of work left to make it ready, but overall im very impressed with Ame's work here. Ame is very humble in his warranty's for the software but overall ive found it to be quite reliable, and the issues I've found are moving along quickly. While...

    Comparing 5500 W to 72,000 BTU

Propane will always heat faster, but it costs quite a bit more.

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

Its always nice when things work, hit expected OG, and brew ended at exactly 1.010 after fermenting @ 64F for 2 weeks. S-05 w/ 2L Starter(approx, i did two 2L starters and split the yeast for storage for later use)

    Decisions decisions... BrewPi or STC-1000

I may be biased, but building a STC1000 is not really that much easier to build than a BrewPi. The BrewPi maybe takes another hour of work but most of thats just getting Raspbian installed, while thats happening you can multi task and build the circuit.

    Computer controlled Vs. Component/manual Controlled?

Well for one, even though im glad BrewTroller is coming back its still sold out on your site. Second, cost..you could in theory put Raspbian on a 2Gb SD card(basically free at this point) in a $5 RPI Zero and have a Strangebrew controller ready to hook into your SSR's and rest of the panel in...

Also i have not ever done a multi setup like this but i would assume he will want a externally powered USB hub to run so many power hungry devices?

    Semi-unique 3-vessel single tier brewery

Yes yes, but when you can get a 3 piece valve for $3 more than a 2 piece like on BargainFittings, the extra money is more than worth the time savings. http://www.bargainfittings.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=36_57 Another bonus is that if your anal like most of us are about having...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Yes it is, and there are a very large amount of 1 wire protocol sensors, for humidity, temp, pressure all that stuff that you can all chain together onto one bus like that and communicate with each of them based on their internal programmed ID string. We have no use for those other sensors but...

    Computer controlled Vs. Component/manual Controlled?

Like i said i love my Elsinore panel, yes its under development but that's a good thing. The core features are there to make it usable and Doug is actively adding new features in all the time. I cant say much for CraftBeerPi, its still very new to the scene and is yet to be proven. But i like...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

You'd need multiple Arduino boards, but other than that your basically right excluding what you need for the RPI like power cable and SD card. That said there is some pretty big news that i wont totally spill the beans on quite yet that will drastically cut the cost of building DIY BrewPi's for...
