OG too low: All grain, partial boil

Tannin extraction won't happen until your into the 170's during the sparge with higher ph water but I wouldn't worry about it in your case at this point. You can mash decently between 146-158 but the higher the temp the faster the enzymes denature. The mash temp will effect the amount of...

    Too Soon For Pumpkin Ales?

If I were doing a pumpkin beer I'd skip the spice alltogether and pitch a yeast that gives you spice. I'd do wlp565.

Forgot to add whirlfloc to boil, does it matter?

Don't sweat the small things. Sanitation, healthy fermention and temperature control, that's what's important.

    Neccessary to dismantle/sanitize kegs?

I'm with most of these guys, I pull the kegs apart every time and clean with about a quart of PBW and soak all the little parts in PBW. For my kegerator lines I usually clean them every time. If I switch kegs back to back, it's with a similar beer without letting an empty keg sit in there...

    Kegerator problems

I went through this same problem. Those calculators theoreticaly work but in practice the line resistance of the hose is skewed. I have 13 ft of hose and it works perfect for beers around the 2.3ish range. Anything higher and i temporarily set the pressure lower while serving and crank it back...

    White Labs New Packaging Question

Supposedly they grown the yeast in the packaging rather than growing it in a big batch and repackaging like they do with the vials. Dr Chris White talks about the packaging in Beersmith Podcast #86. Here's the link...

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

I have two in the primaries right now. Taking a stab at cloning my wife's favorite stout, Epic's Big Bad Baptist. It's definitely going to take a few more batches to perfect. And I just brewed a batch of Earl Grey Mead.

    New Beers Resolutions!

I thought number 2 was pretty funny which for me also applies to Jeeps. I think she's tired of hearing about Jeeps more so than brewing. My resolutions for the year: 1. Get the bar built on my back porch of which I already have the plumbing and electrical ready. 2. Throw some more...

    WOW beers! What are yours?

I had a friend swear up and down that homebrew sucked and he never liked it until I gave him some of Biermuncher's Centennial Blonde. This quickly changed his tune and has done so for others. My sister who mainly drinks mich ultra even liked it. The only change I've made to the recipe is 9ibs...
