    Product warning

I was more concerned about my eyes. but that was after the fact. and no I don't have an attorney in the family. I'd have to disown them anyway. I don't believe in frivolius lawsuits, I was mostly to blame and I know that. I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a possible danger if used...

    Co2 refills in MINUTES

Guess I'm wrong then I didn't know, well I can always wait till mine is close and then swap. That don't seem quite fair, I know I didn't want to pay for it ( a test that is ) unless it is my bottle.

    Co2 refills in MINUTES

I get my bottle filled at a local welding supply shop. the first one I went to said they would exchange mine, and then he said "but some guys like to keep their shiney new ones". Well I wasn't so concerned about the shiney part, but I had just bought a new tank and what would I get in return...

    Product warning

Update. I finally contacted the co.that distributes the Cornelius Keg Charger. They got back to me and have said that they will immeadiately add an additional warning label and then as soon as they can, change the packaging instructions to better inform the purchaser. They were very concerned...

    Product warning

The reason I said the instructions could have been better is that they never mention NOT TO trigger the co2 before applying it to a keg. I have to state that it is hard to make things idiot proof due to the creativity of some idiots. And I never intended to discredit the product, it is what it...

    Product warning

I'm posting this with a bit of embarrassment, but here goes. I recently purchased a cornelius keg co2 charger. (I ran out of co2 and had a meeting to go to and couldn't get my bottle filled in time.) Please read and heed the directions completely. I assembled the unit with co2 cyl and then tried...

    The Plastic Primary

Ok Guys I sense a little defensiveness here ( is that a word?). I did say that the 'glass thing was my opinion . heh if it works for you using plastic then why fix what ain't broke?? Oh and I mentioned Oxy cleaner for the carboys I got the idea here in the forums. You can buy this stuff at a...

    The Plastic Primary

I bought a wallpaper soaking tray, it's plastic and just about the correct size for sanitizing my racking canes and whatever won't fit handy in a bucket. Holds about two gallons of sanitizing solution.

    The Plastic Primary

I don't know about everyone else and I don't want to open a can of worms, but I use 'Glass 6.5 gal carboys for everything, that includes primary and secondary fermentation. they are easier to sanitize ( no scratches) and they are clear so I can see what's happening. I never could see a reason...

Need opinion on dryhopping a IIPA....

I plan on brewing a Pale Ale next weekend and I would like to know when to add hops for a dry hopping. in the primary or secondary. I don't want o make it overly hopppy but sort of along the lines of a Serra Pale Ale I plan on using 1 oz Centennial hops for bittering and a .5 oz cascades at...

    Good Eats: Amber Waves

Yes I saw that episode and I agree he did skip over a few things and I would have done it differently but all in all it was a good show. Like it has been said he promoted the hobby. And Alton usually does an overall good show.:tank:

    Tap water?

No Dude that ain't, I'm told that it's true, as far as tap water goes it is really good. I mean it comes from a very large supply of fresh water, I'm not bragging just stating what I believe is the truth. But I could be full of sh** too. Who knows I never tested it myself ( as if I'd know how)...

    Tap water?

I have some of the best tap water in the world here in Detroit, but bottles sanitzed with a no rinse solution need not be rinsed with tap water. You will not notice anytaste or ill effects. so why chance it. That is why you use NO RINSE, and that is my opinion and practice.:D

    Full volume extract boil

You probably didn't allow for enough evaporation in the boil, I've made that mistake before myself and it's takes a bit to get it just right. I plan on doing an all grain tomorrow, in the american northwest style wheat.

    Using Corn?

I agree Boo Boo,I'm not so sure about the "canned corn thing", I would think you'd be much better off using raw dried corn either flaked or coarsely ground , and add it to the mash. I don't think there is any monetary benefit in using cooked corn from a can. You can probably use cracked corn...

    Using Corn?

Boo Boo , is there a difference between corn and Maise?? Or are you native american?? Just curious. BTW I took a sample of my latest Cream Ale to my local Brewers club meeting lastnight and everyone there said it was a very good beer, I know, no big deal but when your peers appreciate what you...

    Carboy Purchase Question

I use 6.5 gal for both primary and secondary, sometimes my brews run a bit over 5 gal ,what am I supposed to do throw it away?? No way, I'm going to ferment it all, a couple of bottles or so extra is good for me. It may be a bit weaker but I'll wager you or I can't tell it.
