It doesn't really kill the retention. But the head does dissipate faster then others

@unionrdr , just to follow up, Amazon has the HP on sale for $199.19. Ordered mine on Friday, it showed up today. Easy set up and already printed a set of labels on it...

I would not add any more caramel to enhance the flavor. I'm not too keen on overly sweet beers, though. Yes, over three pounds! :mug:
