Need Help with a recipe my wife will enjoy!

I was surprised that my saison was preferred over a blonde ale I made a while back by some BMCers. Especially for a beginner it seems easier to make a nice saison, especially if using 3711 (that thing is nothing short of a beast), instead of a blonde/cream ale with nothing to hide behind. Or...

Need Help with a recipe my wife will enjoy!

A saison or a nice wit is probably the way to go. Cream or a blonde ale would be good but there's not much flavor to hide behind there so I'd only go that route if you're pretty confident in your process and if you have more reliable temp control. azscoob has a fantastic saison recipe in the...

    Don't Do That.

Fill your 3 liter secondary full to the brim, and stick your auto siphon into the vessel, displacing all of that lovely mead across the counter. Don't do that either.

    Don't Do That.

Rack a gallon of mead into a 3 liter secondary, assure yourself you'll totally remember what mead this is, and forget about it for a few months. I've either got an infected JAOM or a raspberry melomel that hasn't hit its stride yet. Not label your brews: don't do that.

Wife and I just finished the newest season of Always Sunny. More of the same, which of course means it's hilarious.

What did I cook this weekend.....

Adobo. Only put in one since wife isn't as big of a fan of heat as me. My bowl had a few extra in the bottom though ;)

What did I cook this weekend.....

Winter staple in our house: sweet potato soup. Super easy too. Onions, celery, and carrots thrown in a dutch oven with some olive oil, cooked until they start to sweat (or longer, whatever). Add in your sweet potatoes and cook them for a few minutes too. Add some cinnamon, nutmeg, and a...

You know you're a home brewer when?

I keep a record of every beer I've brewed (just names and batch size), and I slap the tape from the carboy/bucket on my brew table after bottling...but this. This is a great idea.

Water wasters. I mean wasters in general, sure, but I can't stand people wasting water. Maybe it's because I grew up on well water where it wasn't always 100% guaranteed to be there the next day, but in any case, there's no need for it. My wife has to be the worse offender for this. She'll keep...

Cheese steaks are about the only good thing to come out of Philly in the last 100 years. Let's not piss on their Wheaties too much, it's about all they have ;)

You know you're a home brewer when?

When the central air unit sh!ts the bed and it's cold and dry in your office (50F) and your first thought is "this office would make for a perfect lager fermentation."

Back on topic: People who completely overreact when they see flashing lights on a vehicle. If an ambulance is coming from the opposite direction, by all means give them the right of way. But, there's no need to come to a dead stop from ~45mph when you're not in any danger of actually blocking...
