    A Novice mistake.

    I wouldn't worry about it. A hydrometer won't make the beer taste any different. I'd take a hydro reading be for you bottle it to make sure its done fermenting. you don't want beer bombs:tank:

    I've been surfing this site since Dec. and I never did intro. of myself. My name is Tom. I live in BFE Tennessee. Me and one of my co-worker buddies make 5 gal every weekend in his garage.     building 5 gal mashton. need help

    I'm building a new 5 gal rubbermaid mashton. Rather than buying a false bottom, I've opted to use 1/2" copper pipe. Do i drill holes in bottom, top, or side of pipe, what size holes. and how many?
