    New BruControl Build

I ran a simulated brew today. Everything went well enough that I think I'm ready to run a live brew! Naturally, there are a couple of things to tweak, but there wasn't anything that I would call a show-stopper. I took some notes, and I think I will develop a checklist to work off of for the...

Hop rocket with heater and controller

Can you put up a pic of the plug? Convert it to what? Also, Inkbird's manuals are pretty accessible online. It's tough to help without some more info.

    My mostly automated brucontrol setup

Same here. I went with basic Ss 30-gallon kettles. Punched my own holes. Next time, I would take them to someone else to punch to my specs. I am not a metalworker. They don't leak, but they ain't pretty, either.

    My mostly automated brucontrol setup

I just realized I have no idea the capacity of the rig that you are putting together. The enclosure looks fit for about a 50-bbl system, but what size batches are you brewing with it?

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

I think you can create a second workspace to accomplish that. You will, however, need to keep all device names unique across all workspaces, as the scripting does not differentiate between workspaces.

    Controller wiring problem

You might consider using a larger enclosure. It would give you room to add a second fan to have circulatory airflow, which might let your SSR get the cooling it needs, and it would give you space to add a terminal strip or buswork to eliminate the use of wire nuts. Also, I think that the inline...

    New BruControl Build

The Brew Stand Controller is 24" x 20" and the Ferm Controller is 16" x 20"

    New BruControl Build

Basic power is wired up, and I'm locked in to the new workspace on BruControl!

    New BruControl Build

Update: My workbench had become a disaster area, with little bits of wire, tiny ziploc bags, Phoenix jumpers, Deutsch pins, camlock fittings, and all manner of tools and odds and ends scattered everywhere. So rather that do the sim brew I was planning on, I tackled the monster. Once I got...

Resurrecting an old thread here, but thank you, @RufusBrewer!

    My mostly automated brucontrol setup

@Die_Beerery, how many valves are in this system? I tried to keep the number as low as I could. Also, how did you create the graphics for the different devices? Specifically, how did you manage to scale some of them down so small and keep them readable? I like the way you have the workspace...

I second @Die_Beerery. Thank you for posting that, @smort!

    New BruControl Build

Mine is a 30g Ss Brewtech kettle. Very similar.

    New BruControl Build

I got another very helpful tip from @BrunDog today, which prompted another trip to the google box to part with more of the fruit of my labors. He made the observation that if my three temp sensors are reading the insides of the kettles, the lag time between PID-exerted control over the HLT...

    My mostly automated brucontrol setup

Punching that many holes and soldering that many XLRs would make me nuts. I went for a tradeoff that simplified assembly at the cost of being able to unplug a single component. I ran three 12-conductor cables from the main enclosure to a J-box mounted behind the skirt board. I can still...

    Ss Brewtech kettles and BeerSmith

The pumps are surprisingly quiet. My neighbor has a Colorado BIAB system, and his Chugger sounds like the hammers of Hell. I figured that by mounting them on what amounts to a sounding board, mine would sound worse. Even with both going full tilt, I can carry on a comfortable conversation...

    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

Ran a Costco pack of chicken breasts through the smoker yesterday. Overnight brine in about ¾ gallon of water with ½ cup of kosher salt and ⅔ cup of brown sugar. Each one went into a Ziploc sandwich bag. Quick and easy extra protein for my 17-year-old HS athlete with no time for a meal...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Looking sharp! Refreshing to see some thought given to proper overcurrent protection. Nice looking work, too.
