    12v transformer/power supply source

    copper diameter question

Fellas: If your buying refer pipe (the ones at the box stores that are coiled in the box) DO NOT straighten it out then try to coil it! Refer tube WORK HARDENS! the more you bend it the harder it becomes and will kink really easily! If it kinks you CAN re-anneal it with a propane torch but if...

    STC-1000 cooling issue

Pull the wires off the controller at 7 and 8. Make sure it's actually dropping the relay when it is supposed to be off with a multimeter Should read open when off and shorted when on. If it does the prob is in the wiring to the outlet

    Immersion Wort Chiller

I live in the Chicago burbs and our water is ~50* out of the tap. I don't just place the chiller turn on the water and wait, I stir the wort with the chiller till I get to pitching temp or a little lower. Also my chiller is wound so that none of the coils touch.

    I hate my carboy!!

I brew in 3.5 gal batches and use a plastic water bottle. We have one of those water dispensers in our house and I use the bottles we get the water in. Best part is I never have to clean my primary :) We use 2 - 3 4 gal bottles a week. All I do is starsan them before I use them. Never had a...

    Wiring a Refridgerator freezer controller

I cant find a schematic however I did find that it uses a (what looks like ) a 4 wire damper control motor, assuming 2 for forward and 2 for back. What I would do is.... Basically just pull the cold air from the fridge by opening the damper and turning on a/the fan. As the cold air gets pulled...

    Wiring a Refridgerator freezer controller

That's a tough order :( MOST standard refridgerators only have one compressor/fan. They usually have a damper to divert air from the freezer to the cold storage. You could possibly assume control of the damper but the freezer area HAS to be the colder part. What Brand/Model number is it?

    Immersion Wort Chiller

Refer tube bends REALLY easy! DON'T STRAIGHTEN IT OUT BEFORE YOU START COILING, work it from it's present condition!!! Refer coil is annealed and WORK HARDENS, the more you bend it the harder it becomes! I made an IC with 20' 3/8 and knock down 5 gal batches from hard boil to 65 in less than...

what I would call a good test run!

Thinking about a Farmhouse or Honey Wheat this time...something for early July when I get back from Boy Scout Camp. Were you able to find a 3/8 to 3/4 female garden hose connector? I wasn't so I did a 3/8 barb to 1/2 in then 1/2 to MALE garden hose and made a short female both ends garden...

    Vac Pac bulk grains?

Buddy and I are looking at getting some 50lb bags of base malts (2 row, Wheat, Pale...) and splitting them up. Would it be a good idea to Vac Pac them until use? or just keep them in totes? I was thinking about Vac Pacing in 2 - 3 lb bunches and storing them in totes Yeah or Nay?

what I would call a good test run!

With all the questions and "did I screw up" posts, I thought I'd post a happy story :) Made a wort chiller yesterday....3/8 in 20" copper coil connected to the garden hose so I figured I'd give it a cleaning and test run. Took 6 gals from boiling to 75* in less than 10 mins! I'd say that...
