    Switching from BIAB to Keggle

If it works it works. If it were a problem I imagine fixing the upper portion somehow like with a hose clamp, and in the tip of the dip tube fixing tines to the end (or cutting them out with a dremel) to hold the screen away

    Greetings from Roanoke, TX

No offense but when I think of people from Roanoke I imagine they're always bare foot*. Also, Babes Chicken! Welcome to the forum from Frisco! *Not really, just part of a bad joke I heard the other day on the radio

ShooBrew 2.5 vessel hybrid RIMS/HERMS system

You can do these things with a false bottom above the element. https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/biabbottom13.htm Though a glass carboy might be a little heavy and dangerous, a smaller dia kettle might work better A float switch should work in these instances too. I'm not sure that any...

ShooBrew 2.5 vessel hybrid RIMS/HERMS system

Off the top of my head I'd say if you don't have wort flowing through the RIMS then don't worry about a float switch. I used an arduino a flow meter like you mentioned. Like this http://www.astrocaver.com/rims/.

How do you know if a pail is food grade

That's what I'm trying to say: 1 or 2 in a triangle does not necessarily equal food grade. The gray lowes bucket I have in my hand here has a 2 in a triangle (hdpe), according to "Paul the toxicologist" it is best not to use in food applications. Paul claims to have a PhD in toxicology and have...

How do you know if a pail is food grade

Both food grade white buckets and regular orange home depot buckets are HDPE. Referring back to the stuff I was talking about in post #2, despite all being HDPE not all are created equal. (edit) looks like the white ones are PE.

How do you know if a pail is food grade

There is a 3 part series on Basic Brewing podcast where they discuss food safety IRT brewing equipment with a toxicologist. In one of the episodes he discusses plastic buckets. Essentially, if the bucket is colored (orange home depot, grey/blue lowes, etc.) then it is probably made from recycled...

BrunDog 50A eRig - no HLT for me!

Are you still seeing some creep? How bad is it, do you account for it? How long is your length of tube? Would you make any changes? I assume the shorter the tube, the less the creep. Would rigid tubing help? Do you have a link to the SS 1/8" NPT x 0.170" barbed elbow? What size caps did you...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

I've got an idea, actually I had this idea a long time ago and haven't implement it, sorry if I've already brought it up for discussion and forgot about it. Does your scripting feature allow for the following behavior: on the fly, dynamic boil intensity and/or boil time to achieve a target...
