    Citra Curiosity/Fear

made an all Citra IPA with 4 oz of Citra and we loved it. very citrusy for sure, but we like that. Also we split the batch and did a half batch of it on Pineapple for a Pineapple Citra IPA, man that was a Citrus Explosion of awesome.

    Cautious about too much vanilla.

ive added 2 beans to 5 gallons and that seems to do the trick. i did use 2 in a 2.5 gallon batch for a very very nice vanilla taste, but it was very primary. Id stick with 2 and taste it every day until you like it. Also, remember vanilla fades with time so if its too much >>> RDWHAHB and wait.

    Super Simple 15G Plastic Conical

i cant imagine it wont work, but like i said. if you can fit in into the mini fridge and temp control the air, i don't foresee any issues. The brewery i speak of has great beer and i have never tasted any off flavors resultant from temperature problems in fermentation. and they brew a LOT, since...

    Super Simple 15G Plastic Conical

if they are the same as the us plastics ones, then they are. i know of a commercial brewery that use them because they are cheap and food safe and that is where they got them.

    Super Simple 15G Plastic Conical

simply putting them in a temperature controlled room will work. there is a bit of mass but ive seen a brewery use the 110 gallon model and simply use a temperature controlled room at 62 degrees (they primarily use cali ale yeast from white labs) with a simple ac unit attached. they also have...

    Super Simple 15G Plastic Conical

ive seen these other places where they are food grade, but if i am not mistaken a bit more expensive? if they are cheaper ones they could be because they were rejected for food grade.

    Modify mini fridgerator?

oh also, my fridge was a bit narrower than most and i overlapped the insulation so there was less room to have the kegs sit side-by-side

    Modify mini fridgerator?

i bought a 10x1 white board (had them cut it) at home depot plus insulation. I then used window weather stripping and velcro (although you could use a latch but velcro was cheaper) to hold the door shut. I simply removed the brackets that hung the door from the fridge and moved them to my...

    Modify mini fridgerator?

this is what i did, you can see i put a collar around the front and remounted the door with the shelves still on it. that way i can have hops n stuff in there. http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m58/VanHorneDog/Bah.jpg http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m58/VanHorneDog/bah2.jpg

    Fly Sparging Question

we do 5 gallons with 6.5 gallons for boil. last couple times i took a reading of the last part of the runnings and it was like 1.018, so obviously we still had plenty of sugar in there.

    Fly Sparging Question

sweet guys thanks, i think we figured out our issue, sparging for like 20-25 minutes sometimes, obvously not enough time for the sugars to get stripped away. so do we know what rate that is? ive heard a pint a minute? which is a gallon every 8 minutes giving us 45-60 minutes? give or take a...
