I have bought from Midwest and Austin. I do extract as well and am pretty much a noob at this point so I can relate to you. Both Midwest and Austin have great step by step intructions for the kit. Austin seems a little higher in price but makes up for it in their shipping cost. It is pretty...

Abandon Brewing has some great beers. I was there a week after the grand opening and sampled all but 2 beers. Great flavor and goo quality beer. I got to talk to the owners and brew master. Like deadfall said, dress warm! But i think it adds to the overall feel of the place.
Climbing bines...
I work a lot but I try to make time for other fun things, like
Hunting, Snowboarding, Hiking, Camping, Fishing, and Travel. Can you tell I like the outdoors? To bad I'm cooped up in a stuffy hospital at work ( I am a ER Nurse)
Not to steal this thread, but I see you mention to dry hop the pale ale. I have a pale ale in the fermenter right now and would like to dry hop it. Which do you suggest?
I cleaned all my brew equipment and sanitized to start a SN pale ale clone tonight. To my surprise the swmbo is using the kitchen to bake cookies. She won the fight of course. So now I'm sitting here watching football enjoying a home brew. Who's winning now.....?
On Thursday night I went to my company holiday party. They really do it up and this was my first time attending. I herd they had great gift baskets that they raffle off like a Chinese auction. I was pleasantly surprised they had about 6 "Craft Beer baskets" Of course I put in for all of them...
I pulled a few out to sample today. I rushed it, but couldn't resist. It turned out great for only my second brew. Great taste, great carbonation, great color. And I'm sure it will only improve with time.
