[Initial Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

I know that many of the older-style touchscreens (especially POS systems) used an RS-232 serial connection. However, I can't see any reason those couldn't be passed through a converted to USB, as long as the adapter drivers were Linux-friendly. That said, I'll bet most of the new models...

[Initial Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

It will display, for sure. To enable the touchscreen portion, I think you have to return a serial cable to the Pi, which might get tricky. Pretty sure I've seen people do it on other Pi-based projects, but I haven't tried myself.

My new goal- $10.00 to make 5 gallons

I pay $11/lb for Centennial regularly from Hop Heaven. In bulk, CTZ can drop below $8/lb. I pay $16 shipping for 15 lbs of pellet. Here's my 2013 hop order from Hop Heaven. I don't think there's even the cheapest, but I've experienced excellent service from them (Ted)...

Also, if you power your Pi from a monitors USB hub, youd kill the Pi as well.

My new goal- $10.00 to make 5 gallons

$0.80/lb ain't too bad. I buy 50# sacks for pretty close to that unit price in CA.

What weight of grain? What efficiency? What OG?

My new goal- $10.00 to make 5 gallons

Thats what I get for messaging from my phone at 5am, eh? I think you know what I meant to say. Doesn't change the point.

My new goal- $10.00 to make 5 gallons

Your mother's input is helpful, but a bit misleading. The spore is denatured at 185F, but the bacterium lives until 250F. We don't worry about finished beer because of yeast competition and pH. However, we're didiscussinganning started wort, which is a different case. You're welcome to not...

Botulism is especially dangerous because you won't notice it's a problem until it's almost too late. Count your lucky stars.

Any feedback on the Captain Crush Grain Mill?

Agree on the drill. This one is especially good, and even sweeter if you toss a 30% coupon on top of the listed price: http://www.harborfreight.com/1-2-half-inch-heavy-duty-spade-handle-drill-93632.html#.Uy8WzfldW5g

[Initial Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Lots of good progress going on here, I see. This is my first weekend of moderate "freedom" from the course I'm taking in the last 5 weeks. However, the wife wants half of it (don't blame her), and I could really use some spin-down time. Hope to be back working with the rest of the guys in a...

Thanks! As an aside, not sure I'd want to try any beer named Moose Knuckle. :S

[Initial Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Sorry guys, been working 12's. About 10 more days of it and I'm done! The ABV symbols represent the equivalent number of shots of 80-proof liquor. One 12-oz pour of 5% beer just happens to have the same alcoholic content as one 1.5-oz shot of 40% liquor. The calories content doesn't scale...

SmartKegerator - Automatic pour-logger using facial recognition

Very cool. Similar to a project we're working on. :) Is this code truly released as Public Domain? I'm tempted to scour it for ideas, but don't want to step on toes.

    Magnetic 525SS

Yeaaaah, um... Series 200/300 stainless are austenitic and thus, for the most part, non-magnetic. There are some slightly magnetic alloys, but 303/304 are not one of them. Something's off here.

    Installing Accuflex Bev-Seal Ultra 3/16

They're purposely made for drinking water and bar systems. Perhaps this will help ease your mind: http://www.johnguest.com/Home/literature-downloads/UK-Literature/JG_DRINKDISPENSE.aspx

    Installing Accuflex Bev-Seal Ultra 3/16

Unfortunately, that's not my picture. You'd just need an elbow with 5/16" stem x 5/16" push, as linked above. They make non-elbow stems that can adapt to smaller hose. All of my gas lines are 1/4" OD poly, so I add a 5/16" stem x 1/4" push to connect them to the 1/4" OD tubing. I have to do...

[Initial Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

No problems, man. If she wants to dive really deep, she'd probably do well to run the PHP past a validator. I'm sure we have non-compliant tags littered throughout, but since we were developing for a select hardware/software combo, we decided to spend a minimum time doing validation as long as...

[Initial Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

We honestly have never tried installing this on Fedora, let along with those package presets. I'm guessing you probably missed the step to enable short tags in your PHP installation. But honestly, there's so many non-standard variables with your installation that we haven't test, I can't say...
