    Gov Reg

So far they are working great! While I don't have an inline gauge to be able to check how tight they are holding their set pressure, based on the quality and consistency of my pours, I have no reason to suspect they are drifting. They are working as good as my taprites were, but are waayyy...

    Gov Reg

I got a promotional email for 15% off from NB, so I went ahead and ordered the starter kit. I'm expecting it sometime mid next week. I'm looking forward to giving it a shot. Given its size, it should be easy for me to add more later if I choose, without to much of a space concern. Will actual be...

Has anyone used one of these? I just stumbled across this and I am intrigued. My keezer can hold 6 kegs on the floor, two more 2.5 gal kegs on the hump, and a 10 lb co2 tank squeezes in on the floor. I love it but it is all super tight. I've been trying to figure out how to fit a normal...

    AB InBev/Mead awareness

Overall I liked last year's commercials way better. This year's are overall pretty dumb.

Looks like Northernbrewer/midwest at it again...

I noticed the price on many items went up considerably when they switched to the free shipping on all orders over $30. There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

How tight do you tighten the brass fittings of a CO2 regulator?

I hate not having things center up too. I'd start over and try not tightening as much. It will likely be fine. Like I mentioned though, I'd fully remove and reapply the tape, just to make sure it doesn't cause problems for you.

How tight do you tighten the brass fittings of a CO2 regulator?

I'd try tightening a little more. Hopefully it is still willing to turn. Often it is the Teflon tape that makes it feel tighter than what it really is. If you end up having to loosen it though, better off starting over with new Teflon tape. I've found it tends to increase the chance for leaks...

How tight do you tighten the brass fittings of a CO2 regulator?

I tighten pretty tight, but not to the point where I might break a sweat. Checking for leaks by spraying with star san or soapy water is the best way to know if tight enough.

    Starter Yeast question

How old was the yeast? After 48 hours something should have happened. I suspect it might have gone bad. Based on my math (which likely is flawed) your starter had a original gravity of 1.045. You could always take a reading to see if that dropped. The challenge being that you don't have much...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

In another post there was mention to the host servers having been moved Wednesday night. Maybe it got lost in the shuffle? Although I agree it was probably human error. I've done stuff like that plenty of times before.

Northern Brewer goes to "Free" shipping.

Well this sucks. NB was my go to lhbs, where I was able to pick up bulk grains for about $35 a bag. Unless they now have different prices in there store than online, $55 for 2 row is not worth the 35 minute drive (one way). I guess I'll be ordering bulk grains from Ritebrew as well from now on...

What's with all the man panties ads!!!

This site and nearly every site I've visited in the past couple months has had the same ad for Feldco windows. I've mentioned to my wife that we need a couple replaced, but have not googled for anything at this point. More proof that Google secretly records everything we say.

What to do with all this Lambic?

I imagine the reason you considered a separate co2 system in option 3 is out of concern about microbes making their way up the line, into the manifold, and then to other kegs. I have a lambic that I eventually will be kegging, and I too am a little paranoid something bad like this could happen...

    Need a new scale.

I've been using this one for the last two years: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012LOQUQ/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 The key is 0.01 gram resolution.

    How do YOU sparge?

I have a 3 vessel single tier electric setup, using a 10 gallon cooler as the mash tun. I usually average about 72% efficiency doing a double batch sparge. I wish it was better, but good enough. I've thought of trying biab for batches less than 5 gallons since it is hard to brew such small...
