    Stainless shiny vs satin

From the Blichmann website: "Like our Pro Brewing equipment, we’ve selected a sleek brushed exterior finish that is significantly easier to keep free of stains and fingerprints and gives that true pro-look to your brewery". <goes to make popcorn>

It has been almost a year since I had time to mess with my telescope..

When the power goes out at my house, I light candles and impatiently wait for the lights to come back on. I'll bet that you set up a telescope to take advantage of the dark skies!

Fascinating stuff. I'm curious if keeping the telescope isolated from vibrations is a big issue when working with such great magnification? Do passing vehicles affect the image? Are you in the boonies? Or maybe there is some kind of image stabilization?

    Duotight CO2 Regulator Board Ideas/Planning

I wonder if the installations that leak are caused by having the tubing pull sideways on the fitting? That's the only time I've had one leak, and I have bunch of them on my 6-tap kegerator.

Is Oxiclean OK for brass plating?

I learned something today! I'd never heard of plating anything over chrome before.

Is Oxiclean OK for brass plating?

I'd have said it was a brass faucet that was chrome plated (most of which has been worn off).

    What is "flabby" beer?

OK, my worst fears are realized. I've brewed flabby beer. <hangs head in shame>

Is Oxiclean OK for brass plating?

You sure they are plated? I'd expect that the metal is brass. Either way, I've had no issues using hot PBW on brass parts.

    help with AC glycol build

All the bends visible in the photo were made by the mfr. You'll want to make your bends have a larger radius to avoid kinking the tubing. Various A/C units have differing tubing routes, so plan your layout to make best use of existing bends.

    help with AC glycol build

And if you feel it start to collapse, stop and bend it elsewhere. It's very do-able. Just don't rush it. And as Dland mentioned, cut a generous notch in the cooler to minimize the bending required.

I've had customers come to the shop who've never used one of these. It has bell I can hear across the property, or if a machine is running. It doesn't do well when I need to "press 1 for sales, press 2 for...", but I don't care.

Kegerator build: need help deciding how many taps

Not used on this type of fitting. The fitting itself deforms slightly to make a seal when fully tightened. Here are installations instructions from the Morebeer site: duotight Female Flare Fittings.pdf

    Sauerkraut FAIL

The only time I had a batch go bad was when I tired to ferment it in 70-80F temps. Slimy, squishy, and gross. I threw out three quarts. Started another batch in more typical mid-low 60s, and had crunchy wonderfulness a month later. I just started another batch a few days ago, here's a link to...

What I did for beer today

Thanks for posting the recipe, I'm going to give this one a try. What is the purpose of dropping the temp 7F for the last 30'? I haven't seen that in a step mash before.

    What is "flabby" beer?

I've read about beers that are described as being flabby. What are the characteristics of a flabby beer? Any commercial beers you would call flabby?

Oly was the only beer I ever saw Grampa drink. I'd like to see the recipe also.
