How much beer is too much?

I'm in college, I have no moral issues with pulling the tap handle at 9am before I go to class. I drink everyday at least a few beers and go out during the week a few times. I can be up till 3am hammered drunk, wake up feeling like a million pesos and bike to class. A beer in the morning after...

    Glycol Chillzilla

The only issue I see with running a trans cooler in your freezer is it will more than likely thaw out the freezer or at least melt a lot of ice that may be in there. Then the freezer would have to run full tilt for a day or so to get back up to temp. Also using an air to liquid will only cool...

If you died right now, how would you feel about your Brew Room?

If I died right now that would blow.... And I would cry at the fact that my brew equipment is for my tiny apartment. I have so so much more to do with it. But being only 23 lets hope I have a few more years before I kick that bucket.

Anyone using a filter and bottling?

I always pour 3/4 out of a bottle, swirl, finish pour. I love the yeast, I feel it really adds to the flavor of a beer. Try pouring a good Belgium wheat beer like that except do not pour the yeast, yet leaving enough to swirl and finish off. Try the beer before and after the addition of the...

Need advice on how to handle a leaky Co2 tank

You dont just give up do ya? If it was not under pressure after awhile there would be no pressure if seals were bad or broken then there wouldn't need to be a vacuum for air to get in and CO2 to escape. There would be an equilibrium and they would start to diffuse with one another, sure the...

Need advice on how to handle a leaky Co2 tank

If you only got the tank a few days ago I would take it back ASAP and tell them its leaking. If they are a legit place they should replace it no problem for you. Then you will be back in business. It very well could happen if any of his seals are worn or dried out on his keg, I have had to...

Best strategy for developing a taste for different ingredients

As stated trying different craft beers then researching their ingredients is good. I like to have the list in front of me while tasting them and trying to decide if I can pick out what each thing is. For example I was drinking a sierra nevada kellerweis last night. It has banana and spicy...

Need advice on how to handle a leaky Co2 tank

For carbing the beer the pressure has to be up. Other than times when you need to serve the pressure really doesnt need to be on as long as your keg holds pressure well. (although i would turn it on every day just to make sure it is up on pressure) More importantly though, you probably need a...

How did your homebrew do at Christmas?

Now why would I want to do that to the guy who is probably going to land me a baller job once I graduate? Thats just rude! Granted if I didnt like him as much or need him as a valuable asset It would be funny.

What's the best way to purge oxygen from a keg?

For real, I have used this and kept beers on tap for months with no ill effects. I have even transferred commercial keg beer into cornies using the same method and it has kept for quite awhile at least until it was consumed.

    Hydroponic Hops?

No joke, this is probably the best advice you can get from anyone. There is tons of stuff all over the internet about growing and it is VERY good info. Oddly enough them burnt out mo fos are quite good at growing. Also not only good but diligent and some keep very good notes.

How did your homebrew do at Christmas?

I brought home 5 gal of Honey weiss and it was killed. My biggest fan was the Sec. of transportation. His comment was "I knew I would like it based off the color before I drank it, but after drinking it I like it even more!" Big success and the whole family loved it. Now I have to brew some...

My build, not for the faint of heart

Yeah, the past few times I have just held it. I will have to get out the role of duct tape next time! And yes I feel I am getting quite a good collection of things going, home brew on tap, smoked meats and hookah. For only being 22 I think I am accomplishing life lol if I can only get out of...

My build, not for the faint of heart

Thanks everyone. And they are a two full racks of spare pork ribs. As you can note the smoker next to the fridge, the next best thing to home brew is smoked meat.

My build, not for the faint of heart

Yeah it works for now and it only cost me $25 for the material and $10 for a drill bit and paint. The fan and charger I already had so yeah, it works just as good as any other, im pleased with it.

My build, not for the faint of heart

Anyway I have a small computer fan in the inside hooked up to a old phone charger pumping cold air into the tower and it is working great! I wasn't planning on this being so in depth or involved but a little time and effort was worth not having to purchase a different fridge since I had already...
