I just brewed a Hefe with WLP300 today. I had to pitch it a little warm (78 degrees) though. I couldn't get my temp to come down quick enough and I had to leave. Cant wait to wake up tomorrow and have my closet smell like banana (I hope) though.

brewing an all grain hefe right now. Taking lunch while the batch sparge finishes up.

Transfered my Sour Cherry Pale Ale over to the secondary.. THEN realized I didnt have the right size stoppers to fit my new better bottle carboys. Just star-saned a zip lock and tapped it on till I can get back to the LHBS tomorrow.

No dry hop? I think I'm going to brew this tomorrow. Depends on how much the ingredients cost at my LHBS.

thank you so much, they have an entire diagram on the website to show you how to rack from one carboy to another, thank you again. just one more question though. if im doing 5 gal batches do i need a blow off tube in a 6.5 gallon BB or will an airlock work?

what about the layer of yeast that drops to the bottom of the primary (i dont know what its called). Wont the the spigot being at the bottom transfer the yeast to the secondary, which defeats the purpose of the secondary.

Im shopping for equipment so i can do my first brew. I was wondering if I could use the ported BB for my primary fermenter( Austin Homebrew Supply ) to make transfering to my secondary or bottling bucket easier. Im really new to brewing and wasnt sure what kind of preasure forms in the primary...
