    Mash Bill Help

I don't know if in your process, you boil to hit your specific OG or that's what you want straight out of your mash tun but a brewing calculator like BrewFather or Brewers Friend will help you with your grain bill and expected OG.

2 vessel all grain system help

The advantage I have with the HotRod Heatstick is that I can transfer it from my kettle during the WP when I no longer need heat...and start heating up the water in my mash tun if I'm doing back to back brew days.

My Hopstopper V2 - On Gas - Implementation

Looks great! I was contemplating that for my system but I reciruclate during the mash in my 2 vessel system so I just opted for a giant 6"x 14" 400 Micron Hop spider that I threw 9oz of hotside hops into for a NEIPA. It was the easiest batch to cool using my CFC ever, as I'm used to it getting...

Will adding Gypsum improve the Hop character in my beers?

I found that water was the final piece of the puzzle to take my beers from being good to great. Water and the make up of it makes a greater impact on the final product. Consider sulfates and chlorides the salt and pepper of the brewing world. Too much of either isn't a great thing however...

2 vessel all grain system help

Absolutely love it. Prior to having it, I could fiddle with my flow rate however I could never be beyond eyesight of the kettle to be sure that the element wouldn't run dry. With it, I can have the pump valve fully open if wanted, and the auto sparge regulates the rest for me. I usually keep...

2 vessel all grain system help

I don't know if this will help however here's my system that's based on your idea, with just less equipment. I use gravity to drain from the mash tun instead of enlisting the use of another pump, plus it's less to clean. I'll be making a video walk through of mine and I'll let you know when...

    Warm Fermented Lager Thread

I've just had a very successful light lager using S-23 fermented in the mid 60's. The new year always brings about excitement as I plan my brewing calendar for the year. Besides making sure I have enough Czech and pale lagers ready for summer, I've been wanting to make a Vienna lager. Trying...

German Pils Bo Berry Pils (West Coast Pilsner)

Looks great! I'll have to put this down as a recipe to make soon for the Spring. Also - Awesome Blog, just spent the last hour reading through your brews!

British Golden Ale Miraculix Best - Classic English Ale

I may have a pouch of Imperial's Juice that I could use, I'll have to check, however I think that one is closer to London Ale III. I usually ferment in my basement that stays in the mid to upper 60 degrees F, sometimes it dips to the lower 60's. I could always put the fermenter up stairs where...

British Golden Ale Miraculix Best - Classic English Ale

Funny you say that! I have a pouch in the fridge that I've been wondering what to use it on and this will be it! I'll do 5 gallons with Pub and 5 gallons with something like s-04 to compare differences

    BrewEasy + RIMS Rocket?

I built my system based off of the SOP of the BrewEasy - I use the full volume of water needed, recirculate for an hour before draining to the mash tun. Since this video I've added the auto sparge so that I don't need to worry about the water level between the kettle and mash tun. I usually...

British Golden Ale Miraculix Best - Classic English Ale

Looking to break in my new 20 gallon kettle and I'm yearning to have some English pale ale on tap to guide me through the winter months here. Loving the photos of the beers, great color and flavor seems to be spot on for what I'm looking for! Can't wait to brew this one!

    Quick RO Auto-Shutoff Project

I've been thinking about something like this since I've overflowed my 15 gallon kettle more times than I care to admit.

    Black is Beautiful Stout

What I forgot to account for mine is the loss of efficiency when brewing High OG beers. I'm usually 72% with anything around 1.060's or less. I'm going to re-brew this weekend and this time time I changed my efficiency to 68-69% and see how we do. I will say the first batch has now been in the...

How'd you go about drilling the hole for it? Did you use the weldless TC port?

Hop filtration, options other than spiders for larger batches?

^^^^ That one is similiar to the one I Have. 6" in diameter and 14" long. I've put about 12oz of hops in it while making a neipa and it's been a champ. Can't complain one bit.

Anyone know if this could be of any use in homebrewing?

That would be my concern with it....whatever it was used for, hopefully it wasn't terrible. I don't know how you'd go about effectively cleaning that so that it's food safe.

How's the weight in this? I just upgraded to a 20 gallon kettle and wasn't sure about the weight of everything/balance.
