    failed primary

Good deal my friend just let it keep doing its thing. Relax and drink a craft brew untile you get your home brew done.

    failed primary

It is easy to get real eager with your first batch and go to fast. I know I did. But 4 days is probably a bit short for going to the secondary. The good news is that if it wasnt done fermenting then that pour you did into the carboy probably didnt hurt anything.
  8. Reddheadedstepchild

    failed primary

Yeah syphon some out and take a reading just make sure to sanitize the syphon first.
  9. Reddheadedstepchild

    failed primary

Also can you take a hydrometer reading now?
  10. Reddheadedstepchild

    failed primary

Yeah the only time it is ok to pour is from the pot into the primary. Now on to the failed fermentation. My question is how long did you leave it in the bucket before you put it into the carboy?

Damn I'm sick of this heat

Also I will be driving to Swmbo house on friday wich is in Albany. We go right through Bing. to get there. But the only place calling for snow rain or other wise is down here in NC.

Damn I'm sick of this heat

Ha in NC we got 30 and 40s and im in coveralls. I dont need anything colder than that. 1 to 3 snows a year is good for me, but them folks in Florida dont even get 1 usually. So I dont know why they are complaining about too hot.

    Buy a Beer Company.

Its a gimick. You helped them by donateing and what do you get in return? A certificate that says I donated and some beer. It might be cool if you actually got some stock or some sorta stake in the company. But you get nothing for your money other than a really over priced beer.

    Racking to Secondary Concern

I wouldnt let it get you down. There is still a good chance your beer will be fine. Those guys are giving you the worst case. So relax let it do its thing finish the process and then try it. Even if it tastes slightly off its still beer that YOU made. :mug:

    URGENT! Bottle Sanitation Question Urgernt!

UMMM Im thinking that the bubbles are comeing from the left over ammonia residue mixing with the bleach. The gas comeing out is probably chlorine gas. I wouldnt breath much of that in. Its not a good idea to mix chlorine and ammonia togeather and Id get that out side fast.
