    yep...it just smells inside... dunno how many people remember... but when i opened my kegs for the first time they already had been cleaned at the pepsi plant. so thats where the smell came from...whatever the cleaning agent they used at the plant. all the ones from the CHI company are cleaned...

    how hot is hot? i measured it with a thermometer... and it was like 140-150... it was steaming hot and i couldn't touch it with my hands without burning myself. the directions said 100-160 is proper temp. should i rinse with hotter than that?

    Woot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my liquid out ball lock/ picnic tap set up arrived today...along with some tap handle threaded inserts so i can made some hand made tap handles. co2 tank and regulator with connects and hoses should arrive tomorrow :rockin:

    basically next week is what i meant by later :cross: this weekend is kinda crazy...but maybe midweek next week too. there is about 10 weeks left until Halloween... so i should be good even if it takes me until next weekend or so to get around to it. i normally brew 2 months to 10 weeks minimum...

    Does steeping too hot cause more unfermentables?

    i have had beer that was still active in the airlock 3 weeks or more. its not really anything bad... just let it do its thing... some ferment out in a week and a half...while others take longer.

    yeah i never had this random pressure drop that people speak of either. i have prolly gone through like 11ty CO2 tanks with all the beer i have poured over the years. plus i have never seen a bar or restaurant not have a 2 gauge...so why should i be any different in my house.
