    Average age of home brewers......

Started when I was 27 and now I’m 44 (geez, 45 soon). I used to brew a lot more like 4 or 6 different styles a month a for 5-10 gallons per batch. Now just up to 4 styles from 1.5-3 gallons per batch. I used to have a lot more time. Cheers!

Survey: Whats your brew pot size and do you use all of it.

If I were anywhere near your area in TN then I would really consider it. Friends are trying to convince me to keep them in case I have the urge to big brew again. If you are around Seattle anytime and want to pick them up then you’re more than welcomed to PM me. Since my last post I’ve been...

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’m going to probably just give away my serving kegs when I gift a few brews just as you mentioned. I decided I’m going to save for a few small soda kegs for serving. I just have one 3 gallon keg and the rest are standard 5 gallons which I think is overkill unless...

True true. Except I may have (oops) invested in more than 1 serving keg and those little co2 cartridges. But you’re right, I still can repurpose the regulator and use up my co2.

    TrubTrapper anyone?

I almost purchased one today and glad I checked if we had a tread about this. I was on the fence but now think I may pass after reading this article suggested by a member from a different forum. http://brulosophy.com/2014/06/02/the-great-trub-exbeeriment-results-are-in/ Interesting read...

Kicking myself for getting 2 of the serving kegs with the co2 regulator instead of ball lock kegs. I’ve got my first brew in one and not looking forward to that cleaning process. Perhaps I should eBay the one unopened keg with the regulator. Welp that was a costly learning experience.

Irish Stout Ode To Arthur, Irish Stout (Guinness Clone)

Here’s hoping the luck of the Irish will be on you’re side @Punx Clever. This is the inspiration I need, folks. It’s interesting to see the variations since the OP. I can’t wait to dive into my version. I’m trying to pin down a certain IPA (Seattle here, lol) and this will be my next project...

    Manny's Pale Ale Clone Recipe

Thank you. I just played around with it in a calculator to adjust for 3 gallons with BIAB style. On paper it hits the target. I sure will update when I get one of the fermenters freed up. Thanks again.

    Manny's Pale Ale Clone Recipe

This is exactly what I’m looking for. Did you re-try with this info from the brewery? If I weren’t to use carapils should I compensate with more 2 row or split the difference? About to secondary a Lucille clone. Thanks!

I’m planning to do exactly that (Pico c) but in a translucent conical so I can observe the action. I’m not fond of guessing as to what’s going on. Maybe I’m old fashioned but I like watching the yesti beasties do their work. I’ve only fermented once in SS but more inclined to visually monitor...

Survey: Whats your brew pot size and do you use all of it.

That’s about the footprint I want in my kitchen but thinking 7.5-8 gallon kettle but with a diameter between 12-13 inches. Seriously looking at the Anvil 7.8 since my canning pot is ridiculously huge. Big enough to scorch my stove top. There’s a good 5 inch overhang with it. I’ve never purchased...

Survey: Whats your brew pot size and do you use all of it.

Hey folks. Started doing BIAB after having a 15 year hiatus. I have an all grain keggle set-up but looking to downsize my system. I’d rather do up to 3 gallons since I’m moving away from 5+ gallons. I do like the smaller sized equipment and that I can brew in the kitchen vs only outdoor brew...

    Hello Fellow Washingtonians!!

Hello, Washington folk. Seattle in the Leschi area here. Visited in 1989 and never wanted to move back home (CA). My last all grain keggle brew was 15 years ago. Starting up again but smaller batches. I’d never heard nor tried BIAB but just did this past week. Experimenting more with it. I...

☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

Thanks! Glad to be here. It’s actuall pretty solid. All 304 stainless, tiny footprint, and stores easily. This is the very basic hand cranked version off of Amazon. I’m used to the heat settings on my gas stove that I can roughly gauge my temps and timing of the cracks. I’ll play with timing and...

☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

Hi, all. Sorry for interrupting but a moderator pointed out this thread when he learned that I also roast. This is terrific. I roast 1/2 pound at a time in my stovetop Kaldi mini. I don’t use any software just my senses and a thermometer. I source my beans usually from Sweet Maria’s. I do...

Thanks @Lbarouf and @macgyuver. All this Z release is exciting to read. The news of it blindsided me and my wallet seems to have a hole in it. So I have to reluctantly pass on such a great deal. But right now the Pico C is fine for me. If I want to make a bigger batch I’ll just get more involved...

    How did you find us?

Thanks @MaxStout. I’m dipping my toe back in but foreseeing jumping in the deep end. I have my all grain keggle equipment but want to try BIAB 3 gallons before going back to big batches. I also roast my own coffee so I have to share that space.

Howdy folks. New member but have been lurking recently. 7 years brewing experience with all grain but took a 10 year break. The Pico is getting me back in the game. I recently purchased my Pico C from eBay for just $250 NEW! $250? I couldn’t believe it! With a Picopak thrown in. And it was a...
