I use a giant SS Whisk that I purchased from Rebel Brewer for about 12 bucks, it works awesome, breaks up all the clumps and allows you to easily pull the mash from the bottom of the tun up to the top.
Oxidizing aluminum actually seals microscopic pores in the pot and renders it less reactive than a shiny clean aluminum pot. Read my post more closely and you'll see I clean my pot with water and a wash cloth before and after each brew session. You should never use a scrubbie on a non anodized...
I just use regular PBW or Oxiclean, they clean up easily. Then I soak it in a bucket of Starsan for a few minutes while sanitizing other equipment and tubing, shake it out, hang to dry, done.
I have a 10 gallon, 6mm thick aluminum pot I got on ebay for about $45. Drilled a hole and added a valve for another $18. It heats super evenly and has performed perfectly. 20 batches with it so far and if I had it to do over I would buy the same pot again. As far as cleaning goes....who...

Not all that strange but I've used toasted wild rice in the mash of an ESB. Planning a brown ale with Nutella, toasted Hazlenuts and Count Chocula cereal in the mash.
