New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

This would be considered a braggot, I think. 10 lbs Rahr Two Row and 7 lbs of Honey and 20 oz of hops with 6 gallons in the fermenter. Wound up being around 10%. I am usually forced to take about a half gallon of honey from my in laws. I wouldn’t pay the retail price for that much honey, but...

I will connect a hose on the gas post into a bucket of star San. Do a closed transfer and increase/decrease gas pressure on how fast/slow you want to move the beer. Not sure if that helps or the advice your looking for but it’s always worked for me.

One of my favorites from Other Half is an all Simcoe. Pineapple and orange sherbert. Hand selected hops, but damn, it’s a decent hop that’s kinda been left in the dust b/c of the other fruit flavored ones. I was able to get some of those flavors with mine, probably because of the cryo dry hop...

The yeast brink is a good idea, also contacting Jaybird about developing a conical hop spider.

Is there any impact on hop utilization during a dry hop in a conical? I have a cf5 and I watch a good amount of hops go through my sight glass and right to the 2” valve. I am wondering if these hops have any impact? Am I overthinking it? I have a stainless mesh tube that I use sometimes, but a...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Nice, I thought about a24 but couldn’t find any locally. Just racked a 1318 beer so I went with Hornindal. Changed the hop combo to Mosaic, Ella, and Sabro. Also had 5 lbs of honey from my in laws that went into the BK...we shall see **fingers crossed**

I’ve got a Citra, Ella, Vic Secret beer on tap. Leaning towards Mosaic, Galaxy, Sabro. Awhile back you had mentioned a threshold of Sabro, like where it was good vs where it got crazy and overpowering. Do you remember what that hopping rate was?

I just got a lb of Sabro and I know some of ya have used it in small doses. I usually hop at around 2 oz/gal in my NeIPAs. I have Ella, Vic Secret, Galaxy, Citra, and Mosaic (all 2019). What combo would you all use with Sabro?

Highly recommend gettting a 2”tc to 1/2”barb for dumping. I’ve had my cf5 for a year now while making a mess every time dump, well not any more. It makes it so easy, wish I bought it earlier. I also bought a 2” sight glass, so can’t wait to use that.

If I aim the valve from my BK just right I can hit my thermometer probe which causes lots of splashing. Although, I may have to try your spooning technique.

I’ll be alright with Other Half being a little under an hour away. Loving the silky Chromas they came out with this past week.

At $20 per 4 pack at a good NEIPA brewer. It is a very good investment for my taste buds and bank account.

With LA3 I have had it blow off into my starsan using the hose barb TC. I fill to 6 gallons when doing a NEIPA. So it can happen. I have never used the gas manifold for the entire fermentation.

When I read the email, I thought of you in this thread and the backlash you received from others. I start with the blowoff barb then switch to the manifold when I DH with a few points left. I add the manifold first, connect it to gas and pump 2-3 psi of CO2 while I dry hop. I then purge and...
