    Am I screwed? Broken fitting

Ordered new parts from MicroMatic, waiting on delivery.

Best place to buy used ball lock kegs

If you can wait it out, Craigslist is your best bet I think. I was able to get 2 ball locks for $40 each.

How to remove the keezer handle?

No I don't think I need a new seal but thought I'd ask. I don't doubt that eventually in my life it will need replacing.

How to remove the keezer handle?

Got it! I was able to flip over the seal to see the plastic snaps that hold it all in place (they do appear to be common). I wonder where I can buy a replacement seal for a particular fridge? Do you guys typically go after market, or OEM from the manufacturer? It's a Frigidaire 7.2cu, but not...

How to remove the keezer handle?

I didn't think far enough in advance. The chest freezer's handle is in the way of one of my tap handles! I was originally thinking it was glued down, but it appears to be screwed into place. I'm not aware of how to take apart a lid, but I imagine it can be done? I don't want to totally screw...

Trying to understand the relationship between foam and line length

I've seen the popular equation that helps you calculate line length, and generally it is calculated to leave a residual pressure of 1 at the faucet. Is this extra 1 psi what helps generate the foam and resultant head? If you equalized it at 0psi, does that mean that there would be no extra...

    Well that escalated quickly

    Show us your Kegerator

Just completed it last week, and kegged my first beer in it yesterday.

    Am I screwed? Broken fitting

How do I know which threads to use the tape on? My LHBS guy told me to use the teflon tape.

    Am I screwed? Broken fitting

I agree with you and I will be ordering the o-ring. But I had time this weekend to start the process so I wanted to at least get it started while I wait.

Keezer cycling more often than expected?

I went ahead and layered a towel with duct tape against a keg and shoved the probe in there for now. I will modify the differential to 2* to help as well

Keezer cycling more often than expected?

Okay so it sounds like relying on ambient temperature isn't the best idea if I want to minimize cycles. The greater the thermal mass of what the probe is measuring, the less cycling I should have. Seems to make sense. Only issue is that if the probe is measuring a keg that will soon be empty...

Keezer cycling more often than expected?

What about just a plastic OJ container filled with water? I can tape a probe to that. I've seen some people mention they dunk their probe in water (which isn't what you're suggesting) - I've considered it but I've heard that some probes can screw up in water.

    Am I screwed? Broken fitting

For what it's worth, I was able to get past this issue. I reapplied teflon tape to the tank threads, and used a generous amount of teflon tape to wrap around the broken piece to create a makeshift O-ring. Torqued it back on nice and tight and it passes the bubble test.

Keezer cycling more often than expected?

Today I kegged my first batch of homebrew. I did all the steps laid out by my previous post and got it all setup and put it in the keezer. Using a Johnson A419, I set it for 40F, +/- 1* differential, with an anti-cycle timeout of 10 min. I set the probe dangling in the keezer about 1 foot up...

    Am I screwed? Broken fitting

I put my kegging setup together today to give it a dry run with cleaning solution (run it through the lines) and I could hear CO2 leaking from the tank/regulator fitting. I took it off and found that the mating piece had broken from over torquing or god knows what. Is this the main seal for...

Converting LHBS recipe into BeerSmith, numbers not adding up

Anything else that might be important to get from them, or is efficiency the main piece for extract recipes? I will give them a call this weekend. Thanks for your help! I'd like to work my way to building my own recipes, and I thought my playing with existing recipes I've done I can better...

Critique my procedure for my first kegging session!

From what I've read, the CO2 pressure will help you get a better seal, it can be finicky.

Converting LHBS recipe into BeerSmith, numbers not adding up

Unfortunately I'm not sure how they're calculating things, other than the fact that the OG/FG numbers have always been pretty spot on from my brews. I selected a 3G boil profile just like the recipe indicates, so I thought it would be safe to assume that the numbers would be pretty close. But I...
