    Bad Kitty Vanilla Porter

Have you tasted this recently? How did it age? I plan on making a 1 gallon batch to see how I like it.

    SHaME beer recipe

That's a relief @bberg. I assumed since it was sanitized that I could push it through but was hesitant. I will def keep everyone posted on the taste. I'm excited to try it.

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

I brewed this last night and followed the recipe closely with the exception of sparging the grains. I used cascade hops 7.8%, Nottingham yeast, Muntons Extra light DME, Muntons Amber DME, and I used Motts apple juice. My OG was 1.058. I'm very excited for this brew! I went to see Zac Brown...

    SHaME beer recipe

I stumbled upon a podcast by Basic Brewing Video dated February 28th 2014 "Speedy Homebrewing" and they made a 1 gallon SMaSH/SHaME and added .75 gallons of water into to their kettle, added DME at boil, and made two hop additions. The first one was right at the start of the boil, and the last...

    Carbonation issue.

@unionrdr I fill the beer to the brim of the bottle with my bottling siphon still in the bottle and when I take it out and it leaves about an inch gap between the cap and beer. Sorry I wasn't very clear. @thegreatmaibockaddict I'm starting to think I need to let them condition longer. But then...

    Carbonation issue.

Ok. I will use that as well. Thanks.

    Carbonation issue.

5 oz of priming sugar was used. It was a 5 gallon batch. The bottle was only in the refrigerator since Monday. There was about an inch if room in each bottle left. I let the auto siphon full each bottle until it reached the top and when I pulled it out it seemed like a good gap. Next time I...

    Carbonation issue.

    Here's the overflowing bottle.

    Carbonation issue.

The bottles were conditioned two weeks as of today. I'm pretty sure I sanitized all my equipment 100%. I filled the bottling bucket and bottles to the brim just to be safe. I sanitized the siphoning equipment and ran sanitizing solution through it and let it sit for a few minutes. I use one...

    Carbonation issue.

I store my bottles in a dark closet, I'm not sure about the temperature in there, but the AC has been on in the house almost every day. I can't imagine it gets very hot.

    Carbonation issue.

I brewed Northern Brewers Cream Ale on 7/11 and bottled 7/25. I heated up the water/suger mix as directed and put that into my bottling bucket and and siphoned my beer into it afterwards. My issue is that the carbonation on every beer is different. I had some that were perfectly carbonated or...

    Scaling down yeast

This is for a pale ale with an og of 1.050 and fg of 1.013. I am worried about over pitching and am not worried about saving the rest of it because it could be months before I do a 1 gallon batch, unless that's okay. I'm actually not even sure what happens if you over pitch. Thanks for any advice.

    Scaling down yeast

I have ingredients for a 1 gallon batch and I purchased a smack pack of liquid yeast for a 5 gallon batch and I was curious if I could just use 1/5 of that and it would be enough yeast Thanks.

    Small batch fermentation

Okay, I will stay away from using the larger carboys/buckets for 1 gallon test batches. Thanks billl and sumbrewindude

    Small batch fermentation

I was curious if fermenting a 1 gallon batch, or even a 3 gallon batch, in a 5 gallon carboy or 6.5 gallon bucket will cause issues due to the extra oxygen and headspace. Thanks.

    SHaME beer recipe

@Hello, I do not have any at the moment. @captwalt, your right I should use my own. I think I will tweak what you said though. I do not know that much about different hops. I just brewed a NB cream ale and I should have tasted the hops ha. Other than that it's been years since I have brewed...

    SHaME beer recipe

Hello, I was wondering if some people can point me in the right direction. I was looking to do a 1 gallon SHaME brew because I will have 2 lbs of my tons extra light DME and figured that should be plenty. I think I saw 1.5 lbs of dme per gallon somewhere. Basically I'm looking for advice on hop...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

I thought I saw something about priming it with as much sugar as you would an ale.
