    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

Whats the smallest batch size that anyone has done on the 10.5 gal unit? Any problems and would you recommend it for 2.5 - 3 gal batches. I do 90% small batch brewing, but on occasion will brew a 5 gallon batch.

To those who have added an all-in-one as a *second* brew system...

While the GF and Unibrau look like fine systems, they are way beyond my budget. Since I am planning on brewing small batches, (2.5 gals), I just might be better off with a 5.5 gal pot and a heat stick/stovetop. Any thoughts ?

To those who have added an all-in-one as a *second* brew system...

Just curious, what kind of life cycle can be expected from these AIO units. I know most have a year warranty, but I would hate to spend $300 - $500 just to have a boat anchor after the warranty is expired.

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

Two quick questions. 1. Has anyone done a small batch (2.5-3 gal) on the larger unit? 2. Any suggestions as to what gap gives best crush ?

    looking for pump input!

I think the least they should do is update their web site or post here on the shipment status. If they are running late, so be it, but let us know. I have an uneazy feeling about this. Maybe just the pesimistic side of me.

    looking for pump input!

Any word on when or if they have started shipping the SS version? I have emailed them and so far no response. The lack of communication is starting to really bother me.

    American Pale Ale

Looks good except for the mash temp. 512F is a little high for my system.

    looking for pump input!

Just curious as to why 2 male camlock fittings on pump instead of female fittings. How do you have it connected to your system? Also, if you connect the pump directly to a vessle with camlocks. do you think the weight of the fittings will compromise the ports of the pump ?

Is there a category where you show you home brew setup?

Nice looking setup. Best place to post is in the DYI section. What did you end up using for the heat shield for the MT. I am looking to do a similar setup.

And yet another water report - Houston, TX

I am somewhat surprised that the Woodlands water would be so much different. Where does the Woodlands get its water? Only bad thing about Houston water is that you never know where you are gettting it from. Sometimes its from surface, sometimes from well water and sometimes it blended from...

And yet another water report - Houston, TX

Located in the Copperfield area (290 and Hwy 6). Just straight from the tap. Let it run for a couple minutes and then filled up the bottle. Another quick question, since I batch sparge, it is necessary to treat the sparge water? I am still working my way through Bru'n Water. It is a...

    looking for pump input!

For those who have one of these pumps, can you post a picture on how you mounted it (other than directly to the output valve) and also a picture on the electrical connections. I see three wires comming out of the pump, where do they go and how is the power box that comes with it connected?

    Chugger Pump Differences

The way this thread is starting to turn, I am starting to regret ever asking the question in the first place. Walter is the only one that has even a relevant answer to my orginal question, and I thank him for that.

    Chugger Pump Differences

Now that the Chugger pumps are back in stock, I have a question concerning the differences in the two inline models offered. Other than looks and the possibility of cross threading, is there enough difference in performance or durability to warrant spending the additional $40 for the SS head as...

As I am in the market for a pump or two, this could prove to be right what I need. Will be looking forward to how well they work.

I am very interested in both, but have a few questions. Welded or weldless fittings and do the fittings come with the kettles. Aslo, you have any guess of shipping cost to Houston?
