    Dilemma- 1 gallon vs. 2.5 gallon

    A 2.5G Mr Beer keg doesnt take much room, and you only have to divide kits in half. In fact 2 of them still doesnt take much room and you can do a full kit. Just an idea, I'm space limited too and use two 2.5G to ferment.

    how much washed yeast to use in a starter?

    Can someone explain what you mean by a "jar of yeast"? Maybe a dumb question, but is it a 16oz jar full of yeast cake? If not, how much yeast is settled at the bottom of your "jar"?

    Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

    I recently did same kit. I let it ferment for 7 days (no hydrometer reading), primed, and tested it out in a week. Very flat. Waited 2 more weeks and its nicely fermented. So 4 weeks in total. How much priming sugar did you use? Did you perhaps mix up teaspoons and tablespoons?
