Sam Adams Summer Ale Clone Recipe?

Does anyone know of a good one? Thanks!

    Whirlfloc with Dunkelweizen?

I know it's supposed to be hazy/cloudy...doesn't that come from the yeast? If I'm not mistaken, whirlfloc helps remove hot and cold break, and other trub material, but doesn't affect yeast haze. Am I right? In any case, should whirlfloc be used in a Dunkelweizen or any other German wheat beer?

5 Gallon Dunkelweizen - Starter or No Starter?

It's Jamil's recipe...he seems to go out of his way to encourage that temp, for a balance between clove and banana.

5 Gallon Dunkelweizen - Starter or No Starter?

Using White Labs WLP300 Pure Pitch, manufactured on 6/22/2018; original gravity expected to be 1.056; will ferment at 62º f. I've heard that stressing the yeast can improve results. What do you think?

    Dunkelweizen recipe?

Couple months ago I had an Ayinger Ur-Weisse and loved it. Thinking about brewing a dunkelweizen tomorrow with Jamil's recipe "Trigo Oscuro" from BCS. Has anyone done it before? If so, what did you think? Similar to the Ayinger? Are there any better recipes out there? Thanks!

Starsan messes up my spray bottles

That's exactly what happens to me.

Starsan messes up my spray bottles

It takes a while to happen, but as time goes by Starsan seems to mess up my sprayers...either causing them to clog, or messing with the hole that the spray come out of. Does anyone else notice the same thing? Are there bottles somewhere that are immune? Thanks!

Starsan is months old but still clear

I mixed it months ago...might have been before Christmas. Has only used to soak a few cases of freshly-cleaned (with Oxiclean) bottles. Think it's still good?

    Overshot OG

So over shooting by 5-7 isn't a big deal? Reason I ask is that my efficiency has increased too.. was going to dial it in on Brew Smith to compensate (per a thread I started not too long ago). Maybe I'll just leave it as is.

    Overshot OG

What counts as fairly close to desired OG?

    Brew in progress

RDWHAHB! It may not taste just as you expected, or maybe it will. Either way it'll probably be fine.

Any way to securely connect tubing of wort chiller to this faucet ? Help!

Do you have a washing machine hookup? If you do, a garden hose should fit.

    Birthday Buys

Couple more thoughts -- Hydrometer - Definitely get this now if you don't already have one. Digital thermometer - Quicker and easier to read than liquid. A decent one doesn't have to break the bank. Digital scale - For measuring hops and priming sugar. Bottling bucket with spigot, and spring...

    Beginner Brewing Questions

Unless your fermenter is REAL gross and dirty, or the gunk is dried hard, just fill it with water and put in a scoop of Oxi Clean Free (non scented). After it sits for a few hours, just drain and rinse...no need to do much more than that, other than to sanitize before the next use. By the way...

    Birthday Buys

+1 on a fermentation chamber. I've been using a 7ish cf chest freezer for about six months now, what a game changer all around...it's easier and better beer. The big question is, do you have room for it? As far as smaller gadgets go, I didn't see a wort chiller in your list of equipment. If you...

My mash efficiency is higher than assumed by recipes...

BeerSmith says that my mash efficiency has been running around 80%, but it seems that most recipes assume around 68%. As a result, my OG runs around 5-7 points higher than expected, and my ABV also ends up higher than expected. Is there a way to have BS automatically adjust malt amounts - base...
