Morebeer Will Not Get Another Order!

I ordered for the first time from MoreBeer the other day. They did not have one item, so they sent me and email notifying me of this. I called, and they shipped the other items, and told me they would ship the rest at no charge when it came in. I ordered some belgian style hops and yeast...

    Selling frozen food

Omaha steaks are the only high quality frozen steaks that I know of. I bought a "look alike" this summer, and ended up giving them away to my employees.(They'll take anything) Seroiusly, I was actually thinking about taking them to the grocery store and asking the meat department to grind them...

    Yeast type characteristics?

I've brewed a few batches using liquid yeast, both White Labs and Wyeast. I've also brewed a few using dry yeast. They have all been extract. None of the ingredients have differed that much, and they all have had a OG of around 1.048, give or take a couple points. I've used a starter(stir...

    45 degree corners with wood

I've never used a laser miter saw. Does the laser account for the width of the blade? Make sure you are not cutting the saw blade's width off each end. Does the arm have play in it? If you're having problems, mark the wood very accuratley with a sharp pensil, line the blade up(forgetting the...

I'm an extract beer brewer, what do I need to make wine?

Well thats good, I've had some pretty good $20 bottles of wine. To be honest with you, I've rarely had a bottle over $30. I'm definately not a wino, but I enjoy the full spectrum. Anything you would suggest in the way of a good kit?

I'm an extract beer brewer, what do I need to make wine?

I brew beer, and I figure I have lots of the things I need to make wine already. Currently I have two Ale Pale buckets, two 5 gallon carboys, and all the other gear needed to extract brew. How easy will it be for me to get into wine making?

    Defective Ale Pale?

I currently have a beglian wit in my primary, which needed a blow off tube because of EXTREMELY active fermentation. On the rim of my Ale Pale, I have some dried out blow off that seeped out from under the lid. I checked to confirm that the lid was secured properly, and it is. The lid has not...

Star San VS DL Carlson one-step

Thanks, good link. I think next time I need some sanitizer, I'll try the starsan and see for myself what i like better. However, it seems that once you go to starsan, you don't go back.

Star San VS DL Carlson one-step

Since becoming a member of this thread, I do not think I've seen one reference to DL Carlson One-Step No Rinse sanitizer. Everyone seems to use Starsan. I have been using the one-step and it works great, but have never used Starsan. Is there a clear benefit to one or the other?

cheapest beer in pry off bottles

Michelob has come out with their new "craft" line. I think the Shock Top is ok, not great, it's a belgian white. They also have a bock, pale ale, porter, irish red, and a few others that I have not tried. All of them are pop top, and in my area are about $1.50 less for a six pack that a good...

    Hello from Chicago - Illinois!

I bought my kit about three months ago. Since then, brewing beer is the first thing I think about in the morning, and checking this thread is the last thing I do before I go to bed. I've been buying and making supplies like crazy. My GF thinks I'm obsessed. Weird thing is, I think just about all...

    My First Brew

The ambient temp may be too high if the fermentation is causing it to get above 70. You need a LCD thermometer on the side of your fermentor to monitor the actual temp. Find a cooler spot in the house(basement, closet), or use a room that you can close some heater vents on. Another simple...

    Raspberry Ale

I believe I'll be making this real soon. Talk to you in about 3 months! Being January, I plan to make it with frozen raspberries from Sam's Club, so I'll let you know how that is.
