    ebay aquarium temp controller build

You are correct. On the STC 1000 the second setting (F2) is the differential in degrees Celscius. Pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. BTW third and fourth settings are for compressor delay and calibration respectively.

    Pilsener ready to bottle?

I know I messed up. Now I am trying to figure out how, or if, to proceed. Beer is in the bottling bucket and has been primed. This was a lager yeast. MBasile, I pitched yeast on February 20, 2011 (wrong date in first post). It has been in the fridge for a while. If my hydrometer reading...

    Pilsener ready to bottle?

I know there may or may not be an easy answer but I have to at least ask. First let me admit that I am still confused about reading the hydrometer and thought I didn't need it, I know better now. I took a reading right before pitching yeast at 78* on 3/20/11 and got 1.066. I adjusted to 1.068...

    Confused about Pilsener?

    Confused about Pilsener?

To be honest I didn't check the gravity reading. I have been having trouble getting a good reading on it so I just waited for the bubbling to slow way down. I thought that was also a valid way to tell if fermentation was done. What do I do now?

    Confused about Pilsener?

I brewed up a pilsener (Propensity Pilsener Lager from Papazian's book) on 2/20/11. I fermented in the house for 3 days because I misunderstood directions on yeast vial and then moved to 52* garage. When airlock bubbling was once every 2 minutes or so I transfered to secondary and dryhopped...

    Making beer less "gassy"

Well, some of you have been helpful. Others, thanks for the lessons in romance but I think I will pass on that.

    Making beer less "gassy"

I love beer but not the after effects. Does anybody have any ideas about how to reduce the gas produced by beer? I woul love to be able to just add another ingredient or change procedures to eleminate the problem.

    cheap wort chiller

I am new to this but already wanting to have all of the nice little toys. I was at a local box store looking at material to build my own wort chiller. I came across some 1/4" copper tubing (20ft.) for a refrigerator water hook up and a hose to 1/4" compression fitting. I was thinking I could...

    New guy

I am new to brewing. Got interested because brother-in-law does it and I think it is fun to make your own stuff. First batch is fermenting now and will be bottled this weekend. I hope it turns out well, I can't really tell at this point.
