    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

A 15 amp circuit will be sufficient assuming the voltage is 120, now if there are other loads on that circuit you could have issues.

Is a closed transfer really necessary?

This is a cool idea, read the thread where you posted pictures and I am going to try this. I can defiantly taste and notice reduced hop aroma with hop forward beers after about a week in the keg. This gives me an excuse to buy another keg :ban:

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

Anvil responded that due to loss of efficiency they do not recommend batches less than 2.5 gallons. Not a deal breaker as I only brew smaller batches once or twice a year.

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

Good point. I failed to realize that both units are equal in kettle diameter so mashing with only 2.5 gallons may be insufficient volume. Thanks!

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

This leads me to believe with the 6.5 gallon system the smallest batch size would most likely be around 2 gallons, possibly 1.5 which is what I am hoping for.

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

I am strongly considering getting the 6.5 gallon foundry. I biab 3 gallon batches and occasionally do a 1.5 gallon batch. Not sure if it can be done in this unit or not so I emailed Anvil and I'm waiting on their response. Not a deal breaker though. I was hoping to read a review or see a video...

    Think we ALL agree......

Since I switched to kegging the cleaning is not that bad. Hated cleaning all those bottles! I biab so after the mash I rinse the bag and hang to dry while boiling. Keg a batch on Saturday brew on Sunday. Otoh waiting 4-6 weeks to taste a new recipe sucks at first but like BruceH said having a...

    Mill Cleaning

So I dove in and got a cereal killer from AIH for a great price. Had it for $99 with 13% off and free shipping so I couldn't pass that up. I just crushed my first batch and it works great! How do you clean the mill, just blow it off and wipe it down or can you run water through it? I know the...

Had my first proper blow out

What yeast and ferm temp? Vessel and batch size? I have brewed that recipe several times and never have come close to a blowoff . I brew 3 gal biab in a 5 gal bmb with just an airlock.

    Getting into kegging

I bought a 2 tap kegerator that came with a 5lb aluminum bottle and I also got a spare from an online brew shop. Get the bottles filled at a fire extinguisher shop and they will also do the 5 year hydro test. Depending on where you live some beer distributors who sell kegs will fill bottles.

Fermentation mini-fridge list (brand and model)?

I have this Magic chef 4.4 cu. in. No freezer and minimal door protrusions. Right now I have a 5 gal BMB and a 3 gal fermonster inside. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Magic-Chef-4-4-cu-ft-Mini-Refrigerator-with-Freezerless-Design-in-Stainless-Steel-HMAR440ST/207169805

3 gallon Fermonster - spigot install

Hmm... I have 2 Fermonsters, both have 2 flat washers. No leaks

Why did you choose the biab method

As others have said I love the simplicity of biab. It was the easiest and least expensive way to move up to all grain. I brew only for myself and a few family members so sediment and clarity areno concern to me. Taste is what I'm after however with each batch I brew using a small Wilser bag to...

Anyone have the Insignia 2-tap kegerator from best buy?

So I picked up one of these and just kicked the first keg today. I do like it but as Sleizure said the faucets could be better. Did not have any foam issues with the first keg. I use slimline torpedo kegs and have 3 in with the gas bottle no issues with space. I brew 3 and 2 gallon batches...

    BMB Depth Charge

Makes sense, I know the screen in my large funnel would clog up fast so I stopped using that. I like that idea! How do you attach it to the kettle, with a spring clamp
