New and need some help please

I put a bottle of cider in the fridge last night. It cleared up quite a bit, but is still quite hazy from the original apple juice which was opaque. The cider is translucent and I can see some outlines of the TV through the haze, but still not at all clear. No chunks though and I was able to...

    What are you drinking now?

Not sure if it’s the alcohol kicking in, but the BiG League was my fave.

    What are you drinking now?

They didn’t really short me. At the brewery in Boston (Harpoon) near the docks. The cider is excellent, very clean. From left to right, IPL, Stache Strong Cucumber Lime, Craft Cider and Dark Munich Style Dunkel. Couldn’t wait to try the Dunkel before I took the picture.

    When to refrigerate bottles

That’s a good point. If clear beer is important to you, the longer it sits in the fridge, the clearer it will get. Beers stored at room temp may never get clear, at least not in the time frames that beer hangs around at my house.

    Beer In Alaska

My wife and I went on an Alaskan cruise. The stop in Skagway, we hung out as long as we could at Skagway brewing. As @enkamania mentions, the spruce tip beer was novel to me, but so scrumptious. Probably not to your liking though as it was very IPAish. The other Offerings there were...

New and need some help please

I will. I’m not sure if it’s ugly baby syndrome. But for me, the stuff I make is way more delicious then 90% of what I get commercially. The juice was from Mott’s 100% apple juice, nothing added, not even vitamin C, which many store bought juice’s use as a preservative, but reportedly doesn’t...

New and need some help please

I just bottled my cider. This is the second time I’ve made cider and for simplicity the first time I just fermented it out, bottled and primed. It turned out so well and was so easy, I decided to do it again after a couple years hiatus. It’s bone dry, which I haven’t found readily available...

    When to refrigerate bottles

As @DBhomebrew suggests, I don’t touch anything for 2 weeks. At 2 weeks, I put one in the fridge and let sit for a day to allow the CO2 in the headspace to dissolve into the beer. If everything is good with that one, I stack everybody into the fridge and wait a day for those. I usually brew 2...

What was your first beer… ever?

I made a conscious decision that I wanted to try some alcohol. 15 or so invited to a party. I think it was coors light. 3 beers in wrestling with my buddy caved in the hosts wall. Par for the course I guess. Can’t share what happened with the second round.☺️

    sloooooooooooowwwwwww bottle carbonating?

Normally, when I have primed a beer there isn’t that white ring you have in your picture. I’m sure that different yeast act differently though. If it’s drinkable then have at it.

    sloooooooooooowwwwwww bottle carbonating?

The picture looks to me like the beer is infected. I would expect to continue the slow carbonation until the bottles explode. Drink now if they taste good.

Mishaps you are embarrassed to admit...but can here, we're all friends.

The dumbest thing I did was my first batch. I attempted to pour the wort into my fermentor from the pot because I was in a hurry. Lost about a third of it down the drain.
