    The beer that embodies Christmas

If aliens came down and could only communicate by the smell and taste of beer, which beer would you use to explain and describe Christmas? I have tried tons of Christmas beers and nothing describes Christmas more, to me, than Chimay Grande Reserve or St Bernardus Christmas Ale. Nothing comes...

Conical owners - should I pull the trigger?

I am absolutely certain it will suck to carry but I don’t mind that. It has nice big handles opposed to the ss brew bucket I have been using.

Conical owners - should I pull the trigger?

I think that’s a pretty cool idea, using milk cans.. I wouldn’t have thought to but now I might consider it in the future. I just purchased a 10g torpedo ball lock keg and replaced the lid with norcal brewing solutions keg lid with thermowell for temp control. It should do for not but if I had...

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

You start your riptide during boil? Without issue? I always start it shortly after flame out but if I can run it earlier without issue I’m all for extra peace of mind with sanitation.

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

Oh that is awesome it’s adjustable. I just ordered a couple wilser hop bags about half an hour ago so I guess I’m gonna stick with that for now. I will probably get this at some point though thank you for the response.

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

Anyone have a hop spider recommendation? One that can be moved to the center of a wort chiller when the time comes? I’m also considering wilser hop bags. edit: this for the 10.5 gallon foundry

    Evil weevils

I bought a whole 50 lb bag of 2 row and let it sit in my kitchen for about two weeks. Noticed they were all over the bottom of the bag. I poured the grain into buckets and stashed them away to give to my neighbor who has chickens, thinking it was my fault. Went back to the LHBS and bought...

    spunding, and keg transfer...

Would you mind sharing your process? This is what I’m after. Edit: this RESULT is what I’m after, to be clear.

What came in the mail for you today?

You got those Christmas feels early as I have. I am thinking about buying a folio society edition of that book and I’m currently stocking up on st bernardus Christmas ales, lots of chimay grand reserve, and every other christmas ale I can find.

    spunding, and keg transfer...

I’ve been having trouble wrapping my head around this. You said you ferment under pressure at 10-15 psi and then say the beer is already carbonated when you rack to keg. But doesn’t that change once it’s refrigerated? My desire to spund comes solely from the desire to carbonate my beer in...

    Using corny for primary?

You, sir, are extremely helpful. Thank you so much. I’m gonna go with the 10 gallon.

    Using corny for primary?

Ok one more for real: what did you do for the initial cleaning? Like right out of the box cleaning.
  16. Summa_Brewologica

    Using corny for primary?

One more question: is it a pain to clean?
  17. Summa_Brewologica

    Using corny for primary?

And you do five gallon batches? if so I assume there is no issues getting to pressure with that extra headspace? Or do you pressurize after pitching?

    Using corny for primary?

I have a blowtie so I really don’t need it but I want it

    Using corny for primary?

Man…I have been trying to avoid finding an excuse to buy the SPUNDit.

    Using corny for primary?

I did a 4 gallon batch in a 5 gallon keg and it resulted in a bad blow off but it still didn’t clog up the gas post. I took off the gas disconnect and would spray with star San both on the post and in the disconnect to kinda rinse everything out and that seemed to be ok but I’d still rather not...
