So I found a F calibrated single stage ebay temp controller on ebay and it just arrived yesterday. being the total noob that I am, I have no idea how to wire this thing. I was thinking I could wire the temp controller directly to the compressor in my fermentation chamber as the fridge I took...

    My Basement Bar Build

    Brewtus 10 kits

I think your customer base sharply declines as a "weld your own" kit. I would venture to say a lot of home brewers: A) Aren't ready to drop $250 on a set up yet B) and the ones that are may not posses the skills to weld it together. If your just doing this to be nice, that is one...

    My last fermentation chamber thread.

oh man.. now I am a little freaked.. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal as I'm only trying to ferment at temps around 60-70 degrees. I may try to lager depending on how stable the condenser is at ale temps. Definitely answered the question about where to store this though.. I'm...

    My last fermentation chamber thread.

So.. I am a few hard working hours away from completion on phase 1 of the project. And I am thinking of ways to make this really cool. One thing I was thinking is to mount a flat screen to the outside of the door or on top of the the chamber and attach a infrared camera to the inside, so you...

    Pros/Cons re: fermentation coolers>>

The best ones I have heard of are the Kenmore upright frostless freezers. You should be able to find them on Craigslist for less than $200 bucks. You just need to make sure the shelves are removable. Some have the coils as shelves and are not good for fermenting.

    Pros/Cons re: fermentation coolers>>

Gonna take a stab at this as I did a lot of research before building mine. Fermentation chillers: Pros: Very Cost effective, collapsible and space saving Cons: Need to change ice out every couple of days; Ferm temps arent as constant Fermentation Chambers: Pros: Very good at keeping...

    My last fermentation chamber thread.

My original idea was to store my bottles in there while they are bottle conditioning. I still may do that, but I want to get the top part up and running first. Then I can take my time figuring out how to move cold air to the bottom compartment efficiently. For now it will probably be for...

    My last fermentation chamber thread.

So I started working on my chamber.. It took me about 8 hours on Saturday and about 4 hours on Sunday to get where I am at. Just to recap: I gutted this mini fridge: I have ordered a ebay aquarium controller calibrated to Farenheit, (which may or may not be for heat only, I have a question...

    Fermentation Chamber Build

Interesting... I live in Florida.. So I am really only concerned with cooling. How can I tell if it is 5A contact ratings? What is that? and why do I need it? I'm ok with a 1F degree steps.
