Any experienced brewers still do kits?

I personally don't, partially because kits ordered from NB or other sites have these astronomical shipping fees, which are sometimes more than the kit themselves (living in HI). Buying grains from the LHBS for me.

    Homebrew alcohol sticks around longer?

ABV might be stronger than expected. Though I do notice that the buzz from homebrew is a little different, more of a chill buzz (possibly from more hops)? In any case since I started brewing, I don't drink commercial beer anymore, except when I'm out somewhere. Homebrewed beer is where it's at haha.

Beer styles / recipes for all grain rookies

BIAB, it's a way you can do all grain without buying any new equipment other than the bag. As far as beer styles, I say go with what your favorite beer is. Most important thing to do honestly is make it exciting / fun, and it's easier to get excited about your favorite beer than something...

The only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask right?

0 mins basically means at flameout, so yes, you drop that in as soon as you turn the heat off. It stays in the wort until you end up kegging / bottling it haha. I've at least never heard of removing hops from the wort ever.

    Visual fermentation cues

Gravity readings are the only way to know for sure. If there is still krausen on top it's still at its most active fermentation stage. When it first drops, I hear that fermentation is about 70% completed. Usually this drop happens for me on day 4-5, with day 3 being the most intense. Anyway...

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

Campo pale ale from Nicaragua. Not that it was terrible or undrinkable, just no flavor for a pale ale. During that trip I pretty much drank Tona which is like their budweiser. Was glad to come back to the states for a good ol American IPA

Thank you Anvil for making me even lazier

I've seen someone online somewhere that had a method he called 'one pot brewing'. Basically doing his brew in a kettle biab, and then using same kettle as the fermenter straight into the ferm chamber. That might be more lazy since there's no transfer at all until it hits the keg or bottle :D I...

    Best size fermenters

Little Big Mouth bubbler for Northern Brewer is about 1.4 gallons. It's a cinch to clean too since the cover is screw off. I wish they made a 3g version

    Small batch brewing.

If you're using US-05, then yes. I haven't had blowoff fermenting 2.5 gallons in a 3g carboy. It's come close a few times, but never blown off other than that one time I had about 2.75g in there lol.

    First Brew, In Bottles

Not even sure if you have to tip the bottles or not. Room temp where I live is about 74-80 and the carbonation is usually done in 4-5 days. Though what seems to make it better is 48-72 hours in the fridge (clears it up and carbonation gets in the beer better) To the OP: Nice! I have the same...

    Transferring Wort to Carboy

Auto siphon. 2 pumps and it's done, story of my life. Oh wait... ;D

Correlation between dissolved oxygen and humour tolerance

That's a good idea, it might be faster than my usual method of putting a straw and blowing into my chilled wort to oxygenate it before pitching. I only get infected brew 50% of the time so that's pretty good. I'm wondering if gargling undiluted star san would be more effective than listerine? I...

    Choose my next IPA!

Yeah pretty awesome. It was kinda like a less malty version of a fresh squeezed ipa

    How to use orange peel?

I haven't used orange, but I've used grapefruit in one of my brews. I just used the zest and juice from a grapefruit and added them at flameout. Turned out to be one of my better IPA's :) I assume this could work with oranges as well.

How long does bottled homebrew stay good for?

I wouldn't know, I haven't had a batch that made it past 3 weeks after it was done :D
