    Brewzilla gen .4 with BIAB

I used to have pump and hole clogging issues... But have been fine once I got the HED and use only a bag, i.e. no malt pipe. When do you get the clogging issues? During mash, recirculate period? If so ... You might wanna slow down the pump speed. Slow and easy works better. If the problem is...

    When to add flaked corn?

And it is better if you don't mill it since the flaked corn works as a filter on the smaller grain bits. (Keeps it cleaner).

What I did for beer today

One more day left on the German Pilsner before a slow cold crash, and lager. Checked for the FG which came in at 1.002. yeah, it's gonna be dry as a bone. The sample was magnificent and I know this won't last long in the summer heat once carbed and tapped. Also brewed 11 gal of stout this...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Since I am retired, everyday is the weekend. Ha. Brewing up an 11 gal batch of Mocha Irish Stout. Changed up the recipe a little - adding a bit of dark chocolate malt(450°L ) to the usual chocolate malt. (350°L). Getting ready to mash out at 167°F and lift the bag out. Smells and looks spot...

What I did for beer today

    1) upped the temp in the inkbird "ferm chamber" for the German Pilsner ... Day 2 of D rest. Now at 63°F after 13 days at 55°F. 2) Weighed grains for an 11 gal batch of Mocha Irish Stout. Made a change to the recipe, using a blend of breiss dark chocolate and chocolate malt (450L vs 350L)...

    Brewzilla Gen4 Discussion/Tips Talk

I use a wilser bag with no malt pipe. The HED disc helps a lot catching hops and also keeping the center hole/pump unclogged. I found it easier without the malt pipe. Also one less thing to clean

    single serve nitro infuser

Yup. Ask anyone who pulled the trigger. Beer gas/regulator/stout faucet is just plain wonderful. Beyond words. Yes!!!!

    single serve nitro infuser

The initial cost of going Nitro (beer gas) does seem like a big jump. (Like $350+ for the tank, regulator and faucet, misc - yikes) .... BUT.... Once you got it all set up and dialed in, it is nothing short of awesome. Honestly ... Feels like the best beer money I ever spent. Friends are...

    Just completed keezer build

If possible, you can add a simple USB powered fan to keep the airflow moving. Helps a lot with keeping the temperature uniform within your keezer. Looks great! Nice work!

What I did for beer today

Did a HB stout keg transfer perfectly. Hurray. What is perfect? 1) Knowing the old stout corny is gonna kick in the next 10 days. 2) pulling the on deck stout out of closet storage and cold crashing over 4-5 days 3) putting the chilled on deck keg and carbing it with beer gas once or twice a...

What I did for beer today

@T Murph I have that duo tight setup and love it. I would suggest getting 6 shut off valves and 6 check valves (back flow) ... Both are helpful in ongoing management of CO2 pressure and changing out kegs. Also ... The regulator gauges of 0-15 is much better than the 0-60 for precision and ease...

    cold soak overnight

I tried something like this one time. Before I went to bed - I heated up the strike water to 213°F and let it stay there for about 15 minutes, before turning off the heat and waiting 7 hours when I planned to put in the grains and brew early the next morning. I figured I would benefit from...

What I did for beer today

Checked on the pilsner - day 2.5... still bubbling nicely, but no longer at speed metal tempos... Currently about 140 bpm. Should finish up the fast bubble era in a day or two. Readjusted carb levels - turned up the English bitter because I am impatient, and turned down the pale ale as it is...
