    Brewzilla Gen4 Discussion/Tips Talk

You will want to get the HED, heat exchanger disk - that sits on the bottom above the drain hole. It disperses the heat better and makes a nice bed for the floating hops sinking after a whirlpool. My method ... 10 min left in boil, drop in a whirlfloc tablet (or 1/2 if u like). Whirlpool...

What I did for beer today

The #2 Louie The Lip Lager kicked and keg#1 of Live at the Apollo has just a few pours left. Why to they always kick 2 or 3 at a time? So ... I got keg #2 of Live at the Apollo cold crashing (for better head retention) and it should be ready to swap when needed. The Czech Pilsner replaced...

Help me sanity check my first grain brew

You can do a finer crush for BIAB. Depending on the style and recipe I use .30-.40. pretty fine but nothing like flour.

Help me sanity check my first grain brew

I think on your first go round on a Brewzilla 35L - you will be closer to 72-75% efficiency (not 78). Carapils is used to help with foam/head... I made an out of spec batch one time and the head was like merengue it was so think. Ha. My one piece of advice on the first brew is to ... Add a...

    What are you drinking now?

Drinking a HB Mocha Stout - that is slightly less effervescent than it should be because the tank was in the "order gas" zone for a while. Swapped and will refill the kicked beer gas tank at my leisure. Of course , it could be tomorrow if I feel motivated to get 'er done. Ha.

    Inexpensive Cold Lager Fermentation

Thanks! Great helpful reply posts too. Still haven't gotten an Oxybar keg since I bought a ton of cornys for $35 each. I have (12) 5 gal, (2) 6 gal, and (2) gal corny kegs. Someday I will check them out - probably sooner than later. Yup... The pipeline is key. Currently have 8 gallons of...

    What are you drinking now?

Going thru this thread... Hell yeah. Going with a gin & tonic, with a few sprigs of fresh mint from the garden. Watch a little all-star game (yawn, not a fan)... Call it a day.

What I did for beer today

Retooled a SS table that was 36" high - to a height of 21" with wheels. Going to use it as a brewing platform for a larger AIO electric (100L, 220v, 6600w heater, with recirculation, whirlpool port). One of these easy jobs that worked out without any issues. Yeah. Go Beer!

    Inexpensive Cold Lager Fermentation

I do that with a large 6.5 g corny keg. Looking at tricking out a 16g SS milk container. I just want enough pressure to do transfers.

    What are you drinking now?

Brewers up 3-1 at home. I don't want a bottom of the ninth. Secret weapon? American Brown, HB... Live at the Apollo. Wham. 5 runs insurance. Love that beer!

    What are you drinking now?

Brewers are down 5-3, bottom of the ninth. Evan and I double up on our 'lucky" beer style - American Brown, dedicated to James Brown, called Live at the Apollo. Brewers win 6-5. I feel good.

    Thoughts on Nitro Beer Drafts

Yes. Stout faucet/restrictor plate is vital to making the magic pour. Stout is a little carbed up, and the nitro hitting the plate pushes into bubble madness. A high psi helps (32-38 is typical)

Need some advice in a a blond ale production

If you use starsan.... No worries about the foamy residue. Don't flush with water, there's no need and you could be introducing "cooties". Don't fear the foam - is Starsan's tagline.

    Sabco Brew Magic v350

The site works for me. BrewMagic Brewing Systems - Brew Magic https://share.google/8OMHePTAhWMZhanJS Also saw a 2025 copyright at the bottom of the web page, so it looks like they remain alive. Good luck. There's probably a PDF of the manual somewhere on the web.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

It's Friday... Weather looks iffy, but I am already all mashed in - a tasty Euro Blonde Ale that is pretty low ABV (~5%) and somewhat hoppy. Call it Clock 19 - cuz it is killer good. 11 gallon batch, using Kveik at 93°F. Yee haw. Update: Just finished the boil and whirlpooling... Dropping temp...

    Thoughts on Nitro Beer Drafts

Find a bar that sells Guiness and ask where they get their beer gas. Also... You are mostly likely to find it at a commercial dealer of gas and welding stuff. Good luck. I would not recommend trying to mix it.

My A on A/B tests for Czech Pilsner. Pilsner Urquell - That is one fine beer.

Need some advice in a a blond ale production

    1) Let it go for 14 days in the fermenter if you can and then keg it. 2) clean the fermenter out. Rinse all the trub and gunk out, then clean with hot water and PBW. Then use star San to sanitize. Add some CO2 to the empty clean keg to ensure no leaks. 3) For better head retention ... Cold...
