    Ultra Barrier beer lines

The lines aren't meant to be pretty, they're meant to SERVE BEER If you could see the inside of the water lines in your house, you'd probably yak up a hairball. Yet, you evaluate them by what the water tastes like. Same with beer lines. If the beer is good, the lines are good. If you don't like...

Set and forget carbing and temp

I have 2 kegs serving plus an "on deck" keg carbing, so I have never done anything other than set at the desired serving pressure and leave it alone for a month or 12. Curious: If I set then keg at 36 psi for 20 hours, then dial it back to, say 12 psi, what prevents beer from pushing back...

    Help Identify Keg / coupler

    New to Kegging

Agree with the above. 3/16 bev tubing on 1/4" hose barbs. Wave a cup of water to boiling, dip the hose end into it and push onto the barb. I put on aviator clamps because it makes me feel safer, but i truly believe they are not necessary. The only down side is the hose needs to be cut off if...

    Tubing Length

Do the calculator, then add 4 feet. You can make it shorter, you can't make it longer. 3/16 beverage tubing, not vinyl hose from the hardware store. And, you need to understand what you're doing. The beer is under pressure. As it flows down the tubing it encounters friction along the side...

Good low-key cooler for mobile mini-keg

There are low profile co2 systems that attach directly to the keg if you want discrete and a single package. Not sure how long it would last, I'm fairly sure its longer than a keg pump. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DRPY6BG/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 There are also pressurized growlers that...

    Carbing with a fire extinguisher

In my region most home brewers lease a tank for a one time fee and do an exchange. I bring in my empty and swap it out for a full one. I have a 10#tank (because it would fit in my kegerator and, ya know, bigger is always better) I paid a " deposit" of $50 for the tank and about $15 for the fill...

Increasing carbonation in keg --> increasing line length?

You can also change out your taps for flow control. If your pours are too fast/foamy you just turn the knob to increase the back pressure. Not a substitute for proper line length, but suited for variance in tank pressure, and increase in desired carb level.

    Dip tube touching bottom

Yes. Most of the kegs I have the liquid poppet is set at a slight angle so the sip tube reaches the center of the bottom depression. Some of then have an offset depression in the bottom beneath the dip tube.

Set it and forget it not working

The best way to get head is to make the lines too short :) seriously, there are many threads here from people looking for solutions to over pressurized kegs that lead to foaming and, paradoxically, flat beer. I have a 3 keg keezer and 2 serving taps. When a keg kicks I put a fresh one in the...

    Cleaning Corny Keg

Everybody has their own cleaning process, here's mine: When a keg kicks, I open it, rinse out the trub, fill it half way with water and add starsan concentrate. Close and swish. Drain and rinse with clean water. Pressurize and place in storage until I'm ready to use. On brew day, I'll remove...

Tons of ice buildup on freezer compartment in minifridge

What is the real temperature at the coldest point in the fridge? I have a chest freezer that I turned into a keezer. I turn the freezer controller all the way down and place the temp controller sensor in the coldest point. For me that happens to be down a corner, at the bottom. The sensor is...

    Kegging questions

bev tubing, beer line, potato, potatoe. The point is the calculator assumes vinyl tubing manufactured specifically to dispense beverages such as beer, like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F11C6V1/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 Not like this...

Storing kegs without constant c02 pressure

I have more full kegs than space in my keezer, so I store the full kegs at room temperature (concrete basement, cool year round) under pressure but uncarbed until I kick a keg and place a fresh one "on deck" to carb. I usually allow a month at serving pressure to carb, but I'm in no hurry. I...

    Kegging questions

Everybody is telling the correct details. Allow me to offer a bit of theory to help you put it all together. You need to balance your system. Keg pressure less friction loss through the line should equal a minimal number at the tap. Too low a tap pressure and it takes forever to pour a pint. Too...
