    Black from pop kegs

Spray fixative is one product used to "seal" charcoal drawing's onto paper after completion. Might work for corney kegs as well.

Strange white powder on inside and outside of CO2 lines

Did you replace with new lines of the same composition?

Did I keg my beer right?

To the OP: Your process sounds solid. A couple things you left out, but I assume you did: 1. Apply Keg lube to all the rubber seals 2. Verify the poppet insert and spring are in place (don't ask me how I know this) FYI, I don't do nearly as much to clean and fill my kegs as the bretheren...

Strange white powder on inside and outside of CO2 lines

How long have you been using this line set? Is it only the co2 line of both co2 and liquid? (I assume both co2 and liquid are the same material and age)

    Bottle vs Keg taste

I never noticed a difference when I switched form bottling to kegging. When you make a major change, you often are hyper sensitive to perceived differences. To work it out for yourself, try brewing a standard batch, then bottle half and keg half. Condition each as per your usual process and...

What's Actually Happening When you Pull a PRV? Like Sciencewise, Bro.

I'm not worried about diffusion, because it involves molecules. There at no molecules. I know because my high school physics teacher told me there's only 4 elements: Earth, fire, water and air :)

leaving liquid line attached, but disconnecting gas between serving?

been leaving beer in bev tubing lines 3 years with no issues.

    Slow flow out of keg

I had the exact same problem recently with my pumpkin ale. The flow slowed to nearly nothing. Swapped to the cider tap that was flowing smoothly and was rewarded with 2 taps that refused to flow anything from either keg. Turns out the pumpkin ale had a slug of spice sediment at the bottom of the...

    I can't make a beer above 5%!!

The post above was based on my personal experience when I was still a new brewer calculating everything because, ya know, it's a data thing. The formula I use to calculate ABV is OG-FG*1.33.That was based on my examination of the table in the back of the Palmer book. I selected a dozen OG and...

    I can't make a beer above 5%!!

Yeast has a limit to how much alcohol it can tolerate. I believe beer yeast in general craps out at anything above 5% or so. English cider yeast routinely gets me to 10% and I believe champagne yeast can go even higher. If you're interested in making rocket fuel, pay attention to the strain's...

    Frozen Beer

I believe that pressurized beer has a lower freezing temperature than beer at atmospheric temp. That's why the beer is liquid until you open the bottle.

    Decreasing a recipe

Yup. The grains will absorb water half the water but the boil off will be the same whether you do a 5 gallon batch or a 10 gallon batch. I have a 15 gallon kettle that allows me to do 5 or 10 gallon batches. I record all my recipes as 5 gallon batches and just double the ingredients for a 10...

The laws of physics have been suspended in my mash kettle

if you don't have a dip tube brush you could try a .22cal bore snake.

Rusty Kegerator - Can It Be Salvaged?

My kegerator is in the corner of the basement in a temp and humidity stable environment. Last week I removed my kegs to rearrange things and was disappointed to see that condensation had frozen at the bottom of the keezer making removal of the kegs problematic. I have my keezer set at 33F with...

    dual gas kegerators

I don't do beer gas, but doesn't that need a different style tap? ( the term beer engine creeps into my mind for reasons I cant fully explain)

How long does a 20lb co2 tank last for you?

I dunno I filled mine 4 years ago and am waiting for it to kick :) In reality it depends on how many kegs you rip through and whether or not you use co2 to push things other than beer ( like sanitizer).

Would un-fermented carbonation tablets make sweet beer?

is the beer adequately carbed? what was your calculated alcohol content?

    Be careful with cocktail kegs!

Suggest you get some backflow preventers in you lines to prevent future reoccurrence. That's one of the reasons the gas line is so short. unless you fill the keg to the top there's zero chance of suck back ( and still get the backflow preventers)
