    First batch... best. beer. ever....

I was kinda impatient Friday night and opened up a 'half' beer thats only been bottle conditioning for a week. It was the last beer we bottled and only filled halfway. I thought what the hell, i'm gonna pop this thing. Given we have been tasting this beer pretty much throughout the entire...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

We used wyeast 1056. Tried our first bottle, ever, on Friday night. It was only one week into bottling so somewhat flat... this stuff is incredible. I have access to the real deal, and this is extremely similar. I have to say that we deviated from the original recipe by using warrior as the...

    Transferring from kettle to primary

We pour the brew pot. The first time we used the siphon but it created way to much foam. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Home Brew mobile app

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

That's what we just did. Our first was just bottled, and for our second batch we just did an all simcoe ipa using the exact same grain bill. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Home Brew mobile app

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

First batch here. We brewed this a little over 4 weeks ago. The bottles are conditioning right now. We switched the 60 min hops from citra to warrior. Every taste sample we have tried was absolutely delicious. I am very familiar with the real ZD... can't wait til mine is carbed. This beer...

    Fluctuating temps while bottle conditioning

The temps will range from 60-68F. Will they still carbonate eventually? Or is the 70-72F range essential?

Bottle shipping divider as drying rack?

A clean dishwasher is what we used. (as a rack, not to clean) I feel like the cardboard might pose a problem, not ideal for sanitizing.

Wort chiller leaked tap water into brew

We used a yeast starter and fermentation was going crazy within 12 hours. There was chunks the size of marbles flying around inside. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Home Brew mobile app

Wort chiller leaked tap water into brew

Wort chiller leaked tap water into brew

About five minutes into chilling, we noticed that one of the chiller coils was leaking water into our wort. How much of an effect will this have? Will our beer be infected? Thanks Sent from my SPH-L720 using Home Brew mobile app

    Stinky siphon tube

I think we changed our minds. I can see done light gunk inside the tube. There is no way I'm risking 5g of zombie dust over a $3 tube. We will wait and bottle tmrw. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Home Brew mobile app

    Stinky siphon tube

Oh Ya were gonna soak it in starsan. Okay I think we're gonna go through with it. The tube has the slightest odor, I don't imagine that to affect the taste Sent from my SPH-L720 using Home Brew mobile app

    Stinky siphon tube

We are ready to bottle but we accidentally used our racking tube for our blow off tube.. it is discolored and smells like beer kind of.... Brew partner and I took turns running boiling hot water through it along with scoops of PBW. The tube appears to be clean, but is slightly yellow colored. It...

Do i have to use PBW?

The bottles we're using were ruined thoroughly immediately after being opened. Right now I'm scrubbing them and soaking them with starsan, then im gonna load them into my dishwasher but without detergent. Is this good enough? Sent from my SPH-L720 using Home Brew mobile app

"I don't have time to brew."

Here is my background in homebrewing: started doing research about 3 months ago (Dec '13) and didn't actually brew til 3 weeks ago. I read everything I could from extract to all grain. It consumed me. It felt amazing to learn more and more about something I originally had no knowledge about. I...
