Is there a market for SS Motorized Ball Valves?

Do you happen to have a link? I searched around on google and, for whatever reason, completely failed to find any OCSYS valves. Generally I'm pretty good at searching. Thanks :). EDIT: just found the link in the parts thread: http://www.oscsys.com/

    I suck at...

The last time I bent tube it was smaller diameter but it really helped to fill the entire tube with salt. I've read that fine sand works as well. When done blast the filler out with pressure. I hooked mine up to the sink faucet and it was cleared out within 5 minutes.

Anyone fabricate your own brew kettles?

I'm by no means an expert. I've fabricated some copper vessels (mainly sculptural but they held water fine). Blichmann advertises that their pots are made of 18 gauge (which is, I believe, 1.27mm thick) 304 stainless. Looking @ mcmaster you can get sheets of 304 stainless (unpolished) @ 0.048"...

    Beer Keg vs Brew Pots

haha I never understood the bread and milk thing but everyone did it lmao... brings back memories :mug:

    Beer Keg vs Brew Pots

Are you a lot more comfortable with one or the other? Do they both fit into your budget? For me my trade off basically goes like this: I'll want to pay a guy to plumb the gas or wire up my subpanel - so this is a wash (technically gas might win this one... I already have a giant tank in my...

    Bottom Port? Or Front Port?

On the 4" ferrule idea you're basically talking similar to the yeast collectors you see on some of the plastic conicals people build, right? That's a pretty neat idea. I guess the 'risk' would be if you had enough trub to fill up more than the 4". I don't have any experience with it either way...

brew system trade offs - what to build?

Well what I'd been figuring was I'd build my own on demand hot water heater. I saw some threads about folks who'd done the same. Basically you take a RIMS tube but you cram a 5500W element in there and run it at like 1-2 quarts / minute. It sounded like it could hit the temps anyway. I just...

    Beer Keg vs Brew Pots

So there were details I was missing, fair enough :). I didn't know about the coupon code or free shipping. $50 difference isn't a bad deal by any measure for having the hole punched, the fitting welded, the fitting itself, a ball valve, & made in USA :mug:. The big reason I ruled it out...

    Beer Keg vs Brew Pots

I can't figure out why the penrose is a great deal. You can get a bayou classic of the same capacity or a legit used keg shipped for around $ 120. it's not going to cost an additional $ 70 on top of that to add a welded fitting and ball valve, would it? I don't know what it costs top have...

    Upgrading Brew Pot DIY ideas!!!!!!!

So I'm not sure if this is a useful response to your question but I recently did my own pricing investigation. I've built copper vessels in the past so I would have been fairly comfortable attempting the same in stainless. This is what I ended up concluding from my research. For kegs the...

brew system trade offs - what to build?

Sorry, couldn't think of a good title. I've been lurking a while. Anyway - here's my situation. Right now I use a completely unconverted 8 gallon pot, a rectangle cooler MLT + RIMS tube (just built it), and a 15 gallon aluminum bayou classic. I've been wanting to move to all stainless for my...
