I'm new to the anniversary beer concept but think I would like to jump in. I would vote for the Wee Heavy or IIPA. I was thinking about making a wee heavy soon anyway. I am also open to other styles.

Yeah, I'm still going to try and brew my Porter. This I will name it "The Wrath of Irene" or something like that. Although it seems if I am going to brew a beer on the day of a hurricane it should be higher in ABV.

They are saying the epicenter is Mineral, VA less than 30 miles away from where I am currently.

I'm here in Richmond, VA. It was pretty crazy. Not used to feeling something like that here on the East Coast. My guess is Californians are laughing at us right now.:cross:

Non beer idea but I use these buckets as brining buckets as well. They also work great as soak buckets for lable removal.

I think the first beer will turn out great and I would keep all for myself. If I really was invested in doing 10 total gallons I would plan a double brew day next weekend and make sure the ingredients are correct. Finally I would keep an eye on the LHBS. People make mistakes.

It's the best one I have had even beats commercial version IMHO. The beer bar I go to has Dad's Little Helper Black IPA on tap all the time. I get it but am always disapointed that it isn't this beer.
