I wanted to do a blueberry hefeweizen, and was curious to the method you used. Did you crush the blueberries, and put it into secondary fermentation? Soak in vodka? It sounds really good! Great Idea for a NW Hefeweizen! :mug:
Just finished kegging my first tripel after 5 weeks in primary. Has a bit of hot mouth feel currently. I'll be curious to see how it ages @ 38* in keezer under C02. Mistake?:drunk:
I'm near Seattle, and my Chinook is only about 2 feet tall (2nd year) however my Hallertauer (also 2nd year) is already over 12 feet! Strange growing year I guess....:confused:
I realize some time has gone by jonodon, but did you paint the gasket, or did you purchase a new one? I'm just about to start a similar project to yours with a white chest freezer. I can only hope mine will look half as good as yours!
I was thinking of doing something similar. How often do you have to stir/mix the mash while on heat during the mash process? Is it hard to maintain the temp?
