    PIttsburgh/Western PA Group Buy #4

Payment sent. Still impressed by the level of dedication given to these group buys, especially the hop buy (even though I wasn't part of it).

    Pittsburgh/Western PA Group Buy - Round 3

Man, I wish I had thought to save some beer to share. A few weeks ago we had a "kick the keg" party because I had 6 partial kegs I needed to drain.

    Pittsburgh/Western PA Group Buy - Round 3

What's the earliest we can show up? I'd like to get it done & out of the way early so I can brew later that day.

Group grain buy Pittsburgh / Western PA

You just missed the last round. There should be another one immediately following this though. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f174/pittsburgh-western-pa-group-buy-round-3-a-340378/index13.html

    Pittsburgh/Western PA Group Buy - Round 3

I have 6 sacks to add to the buy once I get permissions on the spreadsheet.

    Pittsburgh/Western PA Group Buy - Round 3

So, I got the e-mail on 11/29 that says "I've shared an item with you." and it was for "pittsburgh group 3.2". But when I log into Google Drive using the same e-mail, it says "You need permission to access this item." I went ahead and clicked "Request access", but seems to me like I should...

    Pittsburgh/Western PA Group Buy - Round 3

It's not dead, it's closed. The organizer stated that on 9/24/2012. Each round starts a new thread so keep an eye out. Edit: looks like you were part of this buy so you probably know something i don't. If it's stalled due to lack of interest i need 4 or 5 sacks if that would help...

    Pittsburgh/Western PA Group Buy - Round 3

I'm in for the next 1 for sure. I went through my 2-Row faster than I anticipated. I even had an unopened sack before the group buy. I'd anticipate buying at least 3 sacks, all base grain.

Those looking for flavor extracts should also try Capella. They are even listed as a vendor here on HBT. Here is a link directly to their mashmallow flavoring. http://capellaflavordrops.com/MarshmallowFlavoring.aspx

How do you move 10 gallons for packaging?

I like this. I already have a spare 5# CO2 tank I could use since my fermentation chamber and keezer are in separate rooms.

How do you move 10 gallons for packaging?

Ok, first some background information... I brewed 10 gallons of Pumpkin Ale 4 weeks ago. I fermented this 10 gallon batch in an unmodified sanke keg with the spear replaced by a stopper and blowoff tube. The beer is done fermenting and had a chance to sit and "clean up" for a few weeks. To...

    Straining pumpkin

I agree with everything you said except for this. I've tried real pumpkin and canned and there really wasn't much of a difference and I think lots of other people on here had the same experience. Have you done a blind tasting between the 2? If so, more power to you. I like the idea of making...

    hop storage

First year hops can produce a considerable crop. It's really dependent upon your setup. The first year I had hops, I planted them in 18-Gallon plastic storage totes with miracle grow soil and holes drilled in the bottom for proper drainage. My first year hops easily passed 15 feet tall and...

Had my first Airlock Blow out PIC included

No wonder with the shape of that fermentor. Was this the first time you used it? It reminds me of how a flask will boil over in a second because of the narrow neck. What is that anyway? A 15 gallon demijohn without the basket? Looks cool but man, i bet it's a pain to move

    QUICK!! Help!!

I'm assuming you used starsan in your airlock? That just looks like starsan foam from the bubbling airlock. That's why i prefer to use cheap vodka sometimes - it won't foam. Some people always use a blowoff at the start of fermentation just in case. I just let it go until i see krausen...

    Erlenmeyer Flasks

As expected, my order was canceled as well, but I have to say I don't entirely agree with these flasks being junk. I have the exact same flask, United FG4980 5000ml, that I ordered from some science surplus site (I can't recall the exact site). I've been using it for starters over a year...

    Delaware

Grew up on a farm in Milton. Didn't start brewing until I moved to Pittsburgh Never thought I'd end up near a city but I love it up here. It's more like a big town than a city. I'd be lying if I said I don't miss DE though!
