Help me with my SWMBO recipe - can you say Stella Artois?

Follow up! This version is much better! I know I changed a lot of things but I do think the water made a big difference. Is fuller, no sharp bitterness. My wife said it was “good.” Still didn’t ask me to pour a pint for her, but this is progress!

Awesome. Very nice and thanks for all the detail. I think that’s the next project for me - getting the CO2 tank out of the fridge.

Right now I have my 20# C02 tank inside my fridge. Can you tell me how you did/what you used for the gas lines going through the fridge? (Speaking of 20# tank - a bonus I found was same price to refill, about $22, as it is for a 5# tank.)

    What are you drinking now?

Nostalgic visit to my hometown of Rochester. Can’t get this in Texas!

3 month secondary - Is my batch bad??

The only problem is it will probably be more delicious than expected! I'm always impatient when it comes to tasting and drinking new batches and time always seems to benefit homebrew.

I'm talking about total temp control using the Temp Control unit for the Spike. Getting to pitch temp is a problem I do have right now during warm weather and the TC Unit would solve that as well

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

For those using ice water with the Temp Control: For your cooler - what size, and did you cut holes in the cover or just leave cover off? Seems like cover would help insulate but if you're swapping frozen water jugs 2 or times a day, taking a cover off with hoses going through seems like a pain...

It depends on much trub and whatnot you've got, and how much you dumped/harvested, if you did. I think that's kind of the point of the racking arm. I just racked a porter that wasn't a hop-bomb but just had a ton of yeast and trub and all - was OG 1.063, and I had to have the racking arm nearly...

What I did for beer today

    Transferred Porter to keg

    How hot was it outside?

Brewed at 95F yesterday - East Texas. Problem is ground water was 84F coming out of the hose so my plate chiller only got wort to about 86F [emoji52]

Have also found the lid takes pretty hard (by hand) tightening to hold pressure.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Brewed yesterday which counts as the weekend! Problem is, at 95 degrees air temp and water pipes that are not deep underground in Texas, my plate chiller only got my wort to hose water temperature of 84F!

I have a CF5. Broken down, its small enough to fit in a large kitchen size sink with sprayer; have an outdoor kitchen area I can use. The rest all goes in the dishwasher (also happen to have a second dishwasher as part of a “wet bar” part of the house that has been commandeered for...

    The hop spider?? :D

    What are you drinking now?

HB NEIPA. Boil was Amarillo. Dry hop was Mandarina Bavaria. Did not get much hoppy or citrusy aroma or flavor. Adding some lemon makes it good though. Big difference from last version with Amarillo/Citra. Was surprised at the ABV of 7.5%

Its an attempt at a German Pils.
