Malt muncher 3 roller loves to rust

I have the same mill and have no issues yet, thankfully. From the photos it looks like it could be rodent poop rather than rust.

    Grain mill broken...

Well... my BC mill finally had its last mission. I hope the Malt Muncher 3 I bought lives up to the hype.

    How long...

I "brewed" Cooper's kits for about 3 years and was perfectly happy with them. Dumped the hopped wort sludge in a bucket, filled with hot water, added the yeast, and corn sugar. I used to also drink my buddy's brews... same process, but open fermentation, and he had several cats, he'd often fish...

Conical Fermenter: Also as Boil Kettle?

By way of update. This is great! I ended up just using a regular non-stainless element. Beer still tastes good, lol. I use my hop spider on its side when boiling, and remove it prior to pitching yeast. Makes brew day much easier.

What beer did for me today...

Whilst collecting my yeast cake to make nutritional yeast, I found 2 litres of beer in the conical. Seems I had set the racking arm too high. Good thing I used Co2 to transfer to kegs last week. The new found beer will not go to waste.

    3 prong gfci protection cable?

Could alternate between negative and positive. Lol. But not good if not careful. Don't cross yer wires.

Don't you hate it when... post your story

Don't you hate it when you buy grain from a new producer that is stamped "2-row", mill the whole bag, and then find that they use a generic bag that says "2-row" on all their grains, and just have a small tag saying what it actually was? I had wondered why it smelled like Pilsner... FAIL.

Best beer you can't make again?

I did an IPA many years ago, and the brew day was an absolute disaster. Nothing went to plan. I was using some borrowed equipment, different water, and had all sorts of issues throughout the brew day. I almost dumped it, but decided at the last minute to add yeast... anyways it was one of the...

OMFG... I can't decide what to brew next.

Thanks all! I ended up going with an Oatmeal Stout. Cheers!

OMFG... I can't decide what to brew next.

Sounds tasty. Don't have any rye right now, but I do have Pilsner, Vienna, wheat, 2-row, Barke Vienna, chocolate malt, Roasted Barley, carafoam, and oats.

OMFG... I can't decide what to brew next.

Yup Centennial, Chinook, Cascade, Willamette, Northern Brewer, Simcoe, Mosaic, and others which escape memory.

OMFG... I can't decide what to brew next.

Oddly... I am cool as a cucumber when the sky is falling, but when faced with a completely silly moment of indecision it annoys me to no end.

OMFG... I can't decide what to brew next.

Yeast, I have bricks of Fermentis S04 and US-05

OMFG... I can't decide what to brew next.

Yeah. I went in a completely different direction, lol. Made a big ass lasagna today and some soups. Tomorrow, brew will probably be an English pale ale, tbd, lol. Cheers.

OMFG... I can't decide what to brew next.

I have all the ingredients I need to make any type of American or English ale... I went down to mill the grain and can't make up my mind. Stout / IPA / Pale Ale / ESB / etc. Lol.

    What are you drinking now?

Very tasty. More coconut on the nose than I would normally want in an IPA of any sort, but it works in this.

    Longest aged beer?

I have tried verticals of bottled Barley wines from two homebrewers, involving beers up to 20 years old. For my part, I have a kegged Triple IPA / Barley wine hybrid from 2013. I tried it a couple of years ago and it was still very good. I have also aged multiple stouts in kegs for up to 4.5...
