    Brewing as a Couple

My wife drinks my beer, but she wants absolutely nothing to do with the process. No interest whatsoever!

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Here you go: http://www.surfcitybrewing.com/download/LiteBeerMenu.zip My current version is a two column layout. I wanted to take the time to make a nice single column version before releasing it, but haven't had time. If anyone does that, let me know and I'll package the additional index...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

I'm laughing here because I did the exact same thing and was calling my version "Lite Beer Menu". I didn't care for all the mysql overhead and such, so I redid it completely in html and javascript. A single JSON file is used that lists the beers to be displayed. I hadn't got around to...

    You have a bad link.

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

I'd expect RPints to be a dog on a Pi Zero. The Zero has less memory and a slower single core processor. Pretty tough to run mysql and Apache on there.

    Amazon Alexa Integration?

WeMo and Hue do have native support within the Echo/Dot - which does communicate locally. I should have stated that the voice commands are not local. The Echo/Dot's voice commands still have to make the round trip to Amazon, no local processing for voice. The current solution of needing a...

    Amazon Alexa Integration?

This isn't the debate forum. ;)

    Amazon Alexa Integration?

The WeMo or Hue hacks don't support temperature control. Also, all Alexa traffic goes through Amazon. There is no local communication. I've implemented Apple Homekit & Siri control of the BCS as well. The additional benefits of that integration is the ability to use a Homekit app to turn...

    Amazon Alexa Integration?

I thought this thread was for those people who WANT TO use Alexa integrations, not for those who DO NOT WANT TO.

    Amazon Alexa Integration?

For anyone interested in checking out the Amazon Alexa interface to control their BCS, I have now published a "HowTo". Please visit the ECC/BCS forum for details. http://forum.embeddedcc.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2949

    Amazon Alexa Integration?

As soon as I can write up the documentation for how to set it up, I'll be releasing an Alexa interface for the BCS. A couple of us have been running it for a while now and it works pretty good. I designed it using the Smarthome Skills for Alexa which gives you on/off and temperature control...

Brewers Hardware, All Stainless, Single Tier, BCS-462, Automated Rig

I personally feel it is a non-issue. I run hot water through the rig after brewing and that alone cleans out everything nicely. Additionally, none of the compression fittings have the actual compression ring installed. I simply use an o-ring there. You can easily open any of the compression...

Brewers Hardware, All Stainless, Single Tier, BCS-462, Automated Rig

It was all bent using a hand bender. Pretty easy. All tubing is 1/2" except for the burners which is 3/8". I bought all the tubing from McMaster. The majority of my bends are single 90 degree bends which allows you to trim the length of either/both ends to match up to your application...

    Help! No chiller water!

NO!!! You have to chill first. Can you string hoses together and pull water from inside the house where your washing machine is? Another option is to get someone to help safely carry the kettle to the bath tub. Put in cold water and ice.

    Big batch brewing

I do 15 gallon batches all the time. I usually target around 17 gallons though so that I have plenty after all losses. 15 gallon batches require 20 gallon fermenters. To do full boils and have head space, you'll need kettles that are 30 gallons (or close to it). Depending on what kind of...

[Version 2 Release] RaspberryPints - Digital Taplist Solution

Sounds like you're editing from a different station - correct? If that is the case, then no, the tap display won't normally refresh until the page is refreshed in the browser. You can fix that though by adding a meta tag within the <head> section of your index file. <meta...
