BrunDog 50A eRig - no HLT for me!

OK, Brundog, you've been bugging me to post my new rig, so here it is: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=572641

Brewers Hardware, All Stainless, Single Tier, BCS-462, Automated Rig

As previously mentioned, the control panel was built using a BCS. Because of the extra outputs I added for all the fresh water inputs and waste water output valves, I ended up using more I/O ports than a single BCS-462 would support. I ended up adding a BCS-460 that handles just a few of the...

Brewers Hardware, All Stainless, Single Tier, BCS-462, Automated Rig

OK, my first brew day is done on the new rig, so it is time to unveil it! February 14th, 2016 marked my 99th and 100th batches of all-grain brewing and the first two batches on my latest creation. Many of you have seen my old system that was a fairly automated BCS-462 based system: Single...

Upright Keezer, 8 taps, 11 kegs

Umm... wood. LOL - sorry that was too easy. ;) It's 3/4" thick pine cut to about 5" square, then cut as two triangles. A single screw is plenty to hold each bracket very sturdy. Here's some pics:

☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

Ditto this. I often used it as 25-50% of my espresso blends. Haven't roasted in about 2 years now though as I have a good local roaster I like now.

Looking for hops suggestions - hoppy blond?

One of my house beers is a Citra blonde. Light enough for the BMC crowd but also has good character that my brewing friends like.

    Thoughts on new software......

kh54s10 echoed my thoughts exactly. If you're not using profiles, then you're only ball-parking it.

Did I cold crash too quickly?

Yep, that there is sexy! Very nice. :mug:

Did I cold crash too quickly?

Sounds like you've already got your question answered, so I'll make an off-topic observation. LOL What kind of lever espresso machine is that in the background? I use a La Spaziale w/ rotary pump, but I've always found the levers sexy.

Once you're on their list, you get a 20% off coupon almost monthly. I know I see them in our mail all the time. Really great deal on that grinder using one of those!

Upright Keezer, 8 taps, 11 kegs

I originally used 3M tape that held up for about 9 months. I now use what is called a keyhole bracket. There is a single screw behind each bracket through the front of the freezer (no worry about hitting anything there). It required that I routed out the back of the wood triangle a bit to fit...

SS Fire ring for sparge attachment?

I put that SS fire ring in an actual fire pit. It is way more bulk than you want to deal with for your mash tun.

Upright Keezer, 8 taps, 11 kegs

Agree! If you go 8 taps, you need the 24" model. That puts your taps on 3" centers. If you want fewer taps, you can go with a smaller model, but calculate it based on at least 3" centers. Anything less really cramps the taps.

New BCS-462 / RPi Control Panel Build

Very cool! LOL - I have a temp sensor inside my control panel too.

Sanitizing corney kegs with boiling water

When I hit my clean kegs with StarSan, I use a special hose that shoots it into the keg via both QD's on top. I made a Y cable that has a bev QD at the bottom of the Y and both a bev and gas QD on the other connections. I keep a keg full of mixed StarSan and use that to feed the new clean...

☕ Coffee ☕: Ingredients, Roasting, Grinding, Brewing, and Tasting

I have no experience with the OXO, but a good burr grinder is light years ahead of any blade grinder. Are you going to use it for drip & press or espresso? Not all burr grinders are good for espresso.

    Transfer under pressure question

It really doesn't take much hop material going through the QD to plug it.

    Transfer under pressure question

I usually do my transfers as you describe, but sometimes the bev side disconnect plugs if I pick up some caked yeast or hops. I do a lot of dry hopping in the fermenter, so I've now been doing a lot of my transfers with an SS racking cane hooked to the fermenter and I now don't get plugged QD's.
