Probably a stupid question but recently got an old fridge to ferment in... I want to get a Johnson temp controller, what's the best way to handle the probe? Is there a way to get it directly into the wort? I use plastic buckets & better bottles

I built 2 - 4x4 raised beds and had planned to plant 2 rhizomes in each along with tomatoes, cucumbers, and maybe some hot peppers. My goal was to put the hops on one end of the boxes that way I could make a trellis for them to climb on that spanned both boxes (they're like 2 feet apart) now...

My first beer was an Irish Red, I gave it to a supervisor at work and he compared it to Guinness... He never got beer again.

I don't have an answer here but was wondering how you like the TAD system... I really want to get one as a middle ground before investing in kegging. Sorry for hijacking your thread! :)

They aren't scrapping bottles, the cans make it so you can bring their beer places that don't allow bottles or would be easier to do so cans. Stadiums, parks, beaches, etc.. There was an article somewhere discussing this awhile ago.

I called today the woman that answered said they last thru Friday or Saturday but on a holiday weekend your best bet is to get it by Thursday.

Probably a dumb question but my parents are giving me a fridge that has the freezer in top. I want to get a temp controller and use it as a ferm chamber. Will that impact the freezer? Wod like to use that for hops and frozen food.

It's supposed to warm back up later in the week, hopefully only 2 cold nights it'll be ok!

Albany area, I have a few chilling in my fridge awaiting the completion of my raised beds.. Last night we had frost warning so I'm glad I didn't get to them yet!

My first brew ever, Irish red extract... Went to push the airlock into the lid on my bucket and the rubber gasket got pushed in... Ran around frantically thinking what to do, then scrubbed my arm quick and started digging thru the hop debris. It still came out good!
