Guidance needed for setting up a True GDM-26 for Fermentaion Chamber

This is what I used since the brewpi can't go directly in line with the power the fridge uses: http://www.powerswitchtail.com/Pages/default.aspx I don't think you need that, just check the specs on your controller and make sure it is rated for the startup draw - there should be a plate on the...

Guidance needed for setting up a True GDM-26 for Fermentaion Chamber

Oh, just saw your power draw question. I used a power tail so the brewpi is protected from initial draw. It's been working perfectly for well over a year and probably 5 or 6 lager cycles. Just do that and call it good.

Guidance needed for setting up a True GDM-26 for Fermentaion Chamber

I have a GDM 12 with a Brewpi and love it. Wish I went with the 26 though, since I can only do 20 gallons at a time in the 12. So, good choice! I have the brewpi controlling the compressor only so the fan and lights have power always, which is exactly how it sounds like you've planned to do...

    10 gallon biab

I have a 25 gallon kettle and can easily do 10 gallons, but 15 gallons (with about a 10 lb grain bill per 5 gallon batch) is just a bit too big for a full volume mash, so I agree with iijakii about holding some water out.

    True GDM-07 Temp Controller Options

I have a GDM 12 controlled with a BrewPi. It's incredibly easy - there's a power cord going from the fridge to the compressor so you can leave the fridge plugged in all the time and it only cools when the BrewPi tells it to. How you control the compressor power cord is up to you, but I just...

    Dialing in bg12

Can you try lowering your burners? It looks like your flame might be going up in the legged void where waste gases can't escape. Or just see if you can open up the burner all the way without the keg on first.

    Corny Keg: Vertical? Horizontal? Tilted?

Google "keezer collar". You're going to want that for CO2 lines in and to mount your taps or send beer lines in an insulated PVC tube out anyway. :)

    Dang brewstand!!!

Also make sure your BG-14 can exhaust. My first test was great in open air (NG instead of propane, but still) and then as soon as I put a kettle on top, it ran very shortly before going on because I didn't have good exhaust so the burner got choked. Fixed that and then all was fine.

American Lager Pottsville Common (Yeungling Lager Attempt)

I've used this one a couple times without the fast lager or water building and was very happy with it, so thanks for this!

Free Stainless Mixing Tank One Barrel 31 Gallon How to Clean?

Could you rig something like a clean in place ball? https://www.brewershardware.com/CIP-Spray-Balls/ Those are just examples, you probably don't want to use one since you don't have a top. But you could rig some CPVC pipe or something, fed from the pump, with an end cap on it and cut...

Need help in my conversion to natural gas.

mine was 7", measured like this: anyway, I used the williams brewing orifices, but I had to take it up a size - I think to 1/8", but don't take my word for that, it was a while ago. I actually bought 4 of them so I could test one and if I made it too big, still have three that were okay...

    Help with Mash Recirculation

I haven't actually built it yet, still working through some existing beers. I was planning on camlocks though, absolutely. I wonder if another camlock on the bottom that disconnects the locline from the kettle top would work for your drip issue. May do that too.

To paint or not paint PVC

Can't speak to this specific application, but a few years ago, I ran a 2" PVC pipe under our front sidewalk to allow hoses through for sprinklers in all the much areas. We use black mulch everywhere and I didn't want leave exposed PVC on the high side or bury the high side, but I did want to...

    Help with Mash Recirculation

That's fantastic. I have been using a 400 micron basket from Arbor Fab for a year or so and have been really happy with it, but have been thinking about some way to recirculate the mash, especially with automation / a PID likely in my future. I'm pretty sure I am going to copy this exactly...

It's official starting my own brewing business!

so glad this thread showed up on the newest forums threads section. i just assumed it was going to be another run of the mill "i had an idea to start a brewery, but then it made no sense threads", but then it turned out to be amazing.

    Lifting a basket

I have an Arbor Fab basket and use a small ratcheting pulley to get it high enough to where the hooks / bar he makes will hold it when I use the press plate. Here's an example from one of his tweets that looks like mine. https://twitter.com/arborfab/status/547903926318944257/photo/1 Works...

Is this burner strong enough for 2 bbl?

Can't help with 2 barrels, but a BG14 is enough to get 20 gallons to a rolling boil on natural gas in two spots with a 26 gallon pot and a 3/4" supply up til about 20' beforeit goes to 1/2" for about 10' and then it splits 3 ways at 1/2" on a brutus style stand i know that doesn't tell you 70...

    Any ideas how to fix?

    ha, yeah, there's that too.

    Any ideas how to fix?

if it's weldless, load up a bunch of teflon tape and then you can seat it how you'd like.
